I am vindicated and satisfied! As a former friend, you are the responsible party to what was not a party. You are judged and convicted by not only a jury, but know that through all of this, all of us who once called you 'friend' are now aware that we never knew who our 'friend' was.

You've seen American Me, you know about the scene where the rice seems to be a prop of silence. Hope that they find a sack for you because even though I do not believe in heaven or hell, I do believe in an eye for an eye.

Thank you, prosecutors, judge and jury for seeing that this man gets punished for his actions. Putting him in jail seems too easy...he should suffer as she did.

And as for Torres, his comments sicken me...he says there is little or no evidence to support these charges. How can anyone say that with a straight face? He suggests her injuries could have been due to her size and the nature of the sexual act, and then suggest there are other things that could have caused this. How utterly disgraceful, even for a defense attorney. If this were his wife I guarantee he would not see things the same way.

I applaud those jurors for sitting thru such a horrible trial - I cannot imagine the restraint necessary when having to look at this creep and at horrible photos, and to keep from wanting to slap Torres upside the head.

I am glad this over...his sentencing is a no-brainer.

One less scum-bag behind bars. Too bad a life had to be lost to finally put this p.o.s. away.

Thoughts to Gaby's family and friends.

The lawyer is a p.o.s. too - he is the same guy who defended Robert Guevara, who got away with killing Corrine Erstad...

Yes, Anthony Torres is a defense attorney. He does get paid for what he does. His job is to have his client not-guilty. However, his "blame the victim" comments are sick. His explanations behind Romo's injuries are truly bizarre. Yes, she was small, yeas, the body has a certain elasticity according to size. However, the female vagina is accommodating to push out a human being; the injuries Romo had were not the result of rough sex but of extreme, sexual violence. No one would truly consent to having their internal organs eviscerated so. Torres has defended the lowest of the lowest common denominators-alleged killers of newborns and little girls, rapists and notorious murderers. Someone has to defend these people-but it is how they are defended, and the inclination that Torres has of blaming the victims %100 that is rather cruel. May Romo RIP and my sympathies go to her family

Gaby was a wonderful person and she will be missed forever. Her family will never have peace, but at least they'll know Mike won't hurt anyone else.

For those of you who think Mike, and others like him, get what they deserve in prison: get real. MN prisons are a joke. Mike will have days where he laughs, watches tv, reads, smiles & eats. Gaby will never have that. What's worse is that her kids will never hear her voice again or feel her arms around them.

I don't think too many of us feel that prison is just punishment. Unfortunately the death penalty is out. And since letting him out on the street to be beaten to death by the general public is not an option, and we cannot publicly castrate him (without anesthesia), prison is the best option available.

Now I hope you get the same done to you in prison every day of the rest of your pitiful life.

And I am thrilled that a jury finally saw through Torres' bullsh*t as well. This prick would have defended Hitler if given the chance.

Thank goodness justice has been served. Everyday I will think of Gaby and hope that her children do well in life. I know that Gaby's family and Lonnie's family are all helping Lonnie with the kid's and from what I see I know that you all will continue until the end of time. Gaby will be watching, I know she has a smile on her face right now with this verdict.

Isn't it unusual to sentance so quickly? Glad they are doing it tomorrow, but don't they usually wait awhile. Maybe because like someone else said it's a no brainer, life w/o.

Torres better not try a mistrial because of the hall tussle thing
