Scott Simon on tweeting mother's death: 'I'm not embarrassed to share it'

Prime example of how stupid Americans have become with Facebook and Twitter.
"The mother of NPR host Scott Simon passed away from cancer late Monday night following a vigil observed by her son both physically, by her bedside in a Chicago hospital and on Twitter, where he chronicled their final moments together.
“My mother and me together, looking, I don’t want to say just death in the eye, but looking life in the face,” he told NBC’s Kevin Tibbles in an interview that was taped before his mother passed away."

Scott Simon has long been an irritating, self-absorbed blowhard or, inasmuch as he works for NPR, blowsoft. His narcissism has now finally exceeded all reasonable bounds. His navel-gazing performance in broadcasting the intimate details of his mother's death via Twitter reminds one of, but is at least two orders of magnitude worse than, Al Gore's shameless use of his sister's death from lung cancer for political purposes.

We'll remember not to publicize your death... Not that anyone will care....
