Oh, yawn. YOU are the one who is vain and dripping in hubris and believes he alone knows God's mind. Good luck on that, Cletus.

You do realize that "Niether" is spelled "NEITHER", don't you?

See what your self righteous hubris has brought? Not being careful in thought returns to spank you.

<quoted text>No, he doesn't, but one Woodstick, whom you rushed to defend, claims that if my belief in a religious cult is the reason I am opposed to gay marriage, then I am a bigot. I believe in God and in the Roman Catholic Church, therefore, based on what both you and Woody have said, the two are apparently the same issue! Now which is it?
Let me clarify my position. Belief in God does not necessarily make one a bigot. However, exploiting or twisting a belief in God to justify prejudice toward a group of people based a single factor, like race, ethnicity, religious belief (or not), or sexual orientation is pure bigotry.
I don't think a benevolent God would give a rap about two consenting adults marrying, of whatever gender. To deny the right of other people to pursue happiness is not only narrow-minded bigotry, it violates the very spirit of compassion and tolerance.

If you don't believe in my God, how can you preach to me about my God? If you don't believe, or don't understand, how can you possibly discuss. You want to get into a "prove he exist" confrontation, which, with me, will not happen. Good Luck

heck, he gives a clear OK to slavery! what kind of god would say it is Ok to own another human? A man-made god, that is what that cult worships.
I do believe that The Old Testament is a tome filled with cruelty, intolerance, and just plain ignorance and savagery. I dont know why Roman Catholics include this stuff in their belief system. The 10 commandments seems to me to be a set of rules with an implicit threat of punishment if orders are not followed. It also seem very limited in scope in terms of guidelenes for moral behavior.
The New Testament contains some sensible and even inspirational language, attributed to Jesus, about the qualities consistent with leading an honorable life.
I see The New Testament not as a kind of sequel to The Old Testament, but in many ways, a repudiation of it.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true,by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.

Faith is to believe what you don't see,the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.

Well, in your religious beliefs, that may be the case, according to the Church I belong to, Same sex marriage is taboo and not acceptable. Now I don't right the rules for my religion, I just believe it is the way to MY spiritual salvation.

My girlfriend (shown at left) tells me Marcus hasn't made enough curing "the gay" in the last ten years to buy a tank of gas. Of course she also tells me if she was President gas would be 2 bucks a gallon and Marcus would be good for half a tank.

No, the Bachmann mortgage is paid for from the public trough and a few misdirected campagin dollars.

he didn't it was god that did. why would any god say it is Ok to own another human...ever! your cult is based on false god, a myth.

jesus was just a re-hash of previous cult's myths. form his fake virgin birth to his fake un-death. don't even try the he changed gods law about slavery. infallible gods don't change their mind and regardless, no god would ever condone slavery...ever...

You should write the rules for your own soul, and not leave it to others to think or moralize for you. My views about same-sex marriage come not from religious belief, but from my own deep conviction that I have no right to meddle in other people's lives, so long as they don't pose a threat to mine.
Your "rules" should come not from your church, but from your conscience. That's why God gave you one.
