Hey Joe, I just wanted to bring up two points as I see them.
1) She didn't actually answer the question. The question asked was whether states should allow gay couples to have the choice to marry. Her response said that she believed in free choice (!!!) and that her choice was that same-sex marriage was wrong.
2) The whole "taking away the crown" issue had nothing to do with her answer to the question about gay marriage. It was because she had signed a contract with Miss USA stating that she had never appeared nude or semi-nude in pictures. The most recent "leaked photo" is of her without a top on.
3) I know I said two, but just finally, you say she lost because of her answer. As I recall there are somewhere around 50 states? Coming 2nd place out of 50 isn't that bad.... In my books that means she did pretty darned well.

I find it funny how easy it was to identify the vicious dogs that come out with their teeth gnashing after they failed to get the answer they so much wanted. A kind and gentle answer will always turn away wrath. I have yet to hear a foul word describing Perez Hilton out of Carrie Prejean's mouth, but I have heard the nastiness of Perez Hilton's words describing Carrie Prejean. Enough said.

Spike... Just to clarify some of your thoughts to Joe.

She didn't actually answer the question? The question asked was whether states should allow gay couples to have the choice to marry.
If she believes that marriage should be between a man and a woman only, then her answer (though somewhat misdirected) was NO. Her statement on free choice was a praise to the U.S. for giving it's people the right to be able to choose.

I always like it when Joe rediscovers the First Amendment. We can all sleep better tonight knowing that Joe stumbled on to the Bill of Rights again. Let's all just hope he didn't bang his noggin too hard.

I always like it when people who despise Joe and his audience admit that they listen religiously.

The fault lies with both Perez and Ms. California, both are idiots. He shouldn't have attacked her like he did, and she shouldn't have posed naked and taken her views to that big of an extreme.

From Sooch's column: "Prejean answered — I actually watched her answer this question ..."

I'm so impressed to find out that Sooch was watching the soft core porn show that masquerades as some sort of contest live in real time. He must have sent the wife out to walk the dog so he could check out the literal "boob-tube" on the sly.

Prejean got tremendously lucky with her small-minded answer, but her outrage is about as "real" as her surgically altered chest. Now she's a fake Cause Célèbre rather than just another also-ran in a second-rate pageant that is a knockoff of the Miss America show.

Finally, there's about as much "proof" that her comment caused her to come in second as there is to Norm Coleman's claim that if only, if only, if only ... he would have more votes than Franken.

Keep up the good work Sooch and enjoy your dwindling time as a destitute man's Dennis Miller.

I think it's very telling that the left embraces a vulgar, immature pervert over a beautiful, intelligent young woman. I'll take the hotties and you lefties can keep fornicating the dogs and goats that populate your ranks.

You think all of that up by yourself or did you have some help from Mom?

Why aren't people all over Miss Rhode Island then, she posed in Maxim. The only reason people wanted to strip her of her title is because of her stance on same-sex marriage

I guess you little 'ards need something to obsess about, on days when there are no Bachmann or Palin 'ardbait topics. Funny, the targets of the collective 'ard venom, are always women. Strong women. Not women who say they are strong, because their Womyn's Studies prof told them so, but REAL strong women, who just go out and DO.
So tell me, little one. Have you always sprouted your little woodie, staring at a woman's bare back? First, a big 'ole hairy sack in your mouth made you feel a "King", and now bare backs. You certainly have, um, eclectic tastes, don't you.
Heh, really, little one. Too bad the 3rd rate machine hack you elected is too much of a coward to take a position, different than Prejean.
Just when I think you cannot get more dysfunctional and disgusting, you prove to the world that you can. Keep up the good work, Mr. Classy.

Ya know, child, if you cry enough, when getting back 10% of what you dish out, I'm sure people will be nicer to you.

Now run along, little one, and go play "King."

Sure thing Mr. Classy. Let's give the crowd another look at your post, which I'm sure you're proud of:

Joe, apparently, has just discovered that beauty pageant questions are intended to ascertain that the contestants are as utterly bland, benign, and inoffensive as possible. Hence the many generations of answers to do with world peace....

The controversy over this is the best possible outcome this woman could have hoped for, there's no doubt about that. I can't recall the last time a beauty pageant made my personal radar, but here we are worrying over the supposed oppression of the second place finisher in some fool thing. She'd never have gotten anything like this attention if she wasn't being touted as the towering intellectual representative of the right and the "strong woman" of MNHawk's dreams.

Incidentally, Hawk -- you really don't want to fall in line behind the intellectual pretensions of your average beauty contestant. You might want to seriously look into how deep a personality you're dealing with, first. I'm guessing shallow. I'm guessing narcissist, as opposed to great, strong, proud American woman worthy of your trust based on the one statement. The rest of the information here isn't exactly screaming "William F. Buckley's rival in terms of vocabulary." It's screaming "model who's scraping by and willing to do what it takes to get ahead." Not exactly the right hill to defend to the last rightie.

She's strong enough for the collective Army of 'ard to find reason to go after her.

She's strong enough, not to budge, as MSNB'ARD manipulates it's dumb@#%$ viewers into thinking two people with identical views on gay marriage are somehow differert, because, well, just because one is The One.

Sure got a rise out of you, didn't it. Really, little one, you should stick to topics that are less demanding, defending Our Little Terrorist, anything to do with sack$ucking (as only the self-proclaimed King of the sack$uckers could do,) and the like.

Heh, funny how easy it is to get the 'ards collective gears, all churning in the opposite directions, trying to reconcile the views of Obama, with the views of Prejean. One gear churns one way, one another, until BOOM, off the mental cliff you go.

I have a feeling that those who sponsor the Miss America pageant do not like controversy to be attached to any of the contests.

So I wonder if Hilton will ever be asked to judge again.
