Dad unfit for not taking son to McDonald's?

A Manhattan dad is not lovin’ McDonald’s right now.

Attorney David Schorr slapped a court-appointed shrink with a defamation lawsuit for telling the judge deciding a custody battle with his estranged wife that he was an unfit parent — for refusing to take his son to the fast food joint for dinner.

“You’d think it was sexual molestation,” Schorr, 43, told The Post Thursday.“I am just floored by it.”

Schorr says in his Manhattan Supreme Court suit that E. 97th Street psychiatrist Marilyn Schiller filed a report saying he was “wholly incapable of taking care of his son” and should be denied his weekend visitation over the greasy burger ban.

Schorr, a corporate attorney turned consultant with degrees from NYU and Oxford University, had planned to take his 4-year-old son to their usual restaurant, the Corner Café on Third Avenue, for his weekly Tuesday night visitation last week.

But the boy threw a temper tantrum and demanded McDonald’s. So he gave his son an ultimatum: dinner anywhere other than McDonald’s — or no dinner.

“The child, stubborn as a mule, chose the ‘no dinner’ option,” the disgruntled dad says in the suit.

“It was just a standoff. I’m kicking myself mightily,” Schorr said.

“I wish I had taken him to McDonalds, but you get nervous about rewarding bad behavior. I was concerned. I think it was a 1950s equivalent of sending your child to bed without dinner. That’s maybe the worst thing you can say about it,” he said.

Adding insult to injury, he said:“My wife immediately took him to McDonalds.”

Wow, so much for father's rights. Sounds like the child is turning into a pompous a_s under the mothers style of parenting.

One would think that the dad would have been praised for trying to keep the kid healthy. By not letting the kid eat junk foods.
.
But then there are libtards who think that kids should be given everything they want. No matter what the repercussions were from that.
.
This brat is going to grow up thinking that society owes him a living.

Since they live in nyc. Most likely mommy will have to get a apartment with a couple of spare rooms for the brat. And the FIVE computers for the brat as well.
.
I used GoogeEearth to look at the area the eatery they tend to go to is in. That part of nyc IS mostly apartments on top of store areas.
.
I also checked the prices of that place he wanted to take the kid to. The supper entrees run from $8 to $24 dollars per person. And that is before the sides, drinks and or appetizers are added on. You are looking at between two to five times the cost of a mickyD happy meal.

I'd like to know if the shrink actually told the judge that and if so, how the judge reacted. With any luck, the judge told the shrink she is an idiot.
Refusing to take a child, or anyone for that matter, to the restaurant of their choice does not qualify as abuse in anyone's book.

Thing is, the judge took the side of the shrink. And had basically awarded custody to the mom.
.
If the judge HAD told the shrink that she was a idi*t. The dad would not have been found to be a supposedly unfit parent for not wanting to feed junk food to his kid by that judge.
.
I wish I could go to that level of restaurant/bakery he was normally taking the kid to.

Which makes the judge an idiot as well. I take my grandson out for pancake and bacon (his request) every now and then at the local cafe. Runs about $5.00.(including chocolate milk) Guess I'm going to hell.

Means I'm more likely to go there since I cook pretty much all of our meals here. Restaurants are a very rare treat for us. Say like for birthdays. And we tend to prefer sit down types way over fast food ones.
