and many monarchies had capitalistic societies at one time or other. it is how the rich get richer or poorer. and same with the poor.

since most folks in monarchical societies did not and do not need approval to own a business. even though monarchies are hierarchical in nature. see the nobles did not care what the commoners did. just as long as they were docile and paid their taxes in full and on time.
.
it was how many a woman was able to sell some of the farm goods without the closest noble person's permission. only one she would have needed back then was her husband's and I don't think he would have said no to it. since not only did it bring in cash from those whose households had not chickens. as well as a steady form of income. since farmers are only able to sell their product after it was harvested. and certain things were only able to be harvested once a year. it kept food from going bad. since most eggs are not fertile eggs. meaningmost eggs do not produce chicks.

feudalism economics. the royalty and nobility controlled all. as in who could do what. one had to seek permission to start any business from the noble living closest to the commoner. they had to have a writ aka permission to do so.
.
also, with feudalism. a person of noble rank could without permission remove entire families from their homes to do as they pleased with the land. many a commoner lost their home, land and livelyhood due to the nobles taking the land to use for sheep. you as a commoner had to ask permission of the noble whose land it was, if you could even live there.
.
some nobles had it set up where if you traveled. you had to have a personal writ from the noble to even leave his lands.

I do have to admire your Gov. Minnesota, he realized his plan was doomed, and he actually admitted it and back away! By the way Minnesotans, start coughing up some more tax revenue for Vikingland. Those electronic pull tabs failed, and failed big time! Racino was the answer! ON Wisconsin/ On Wisconsin!

Don't admire Googly Eyes too much. If he had a lick of sense he would never have proposed all those hikes in the first place. As Sl often states, we don't have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem. And in Minnesota, we have a lot of spending problems.

Yes, between them, the met council and the various city councils, they just can't stop spending and vying for federal money.
