I hope the jury realizes that when this busy-body cop got up from his table and approached the victim, he was the aggressor. He could have complained to his server, or gone to the manager. He's guilty as hell, and should go to prison for a long time.

Guilty, on three counts. There goes his career.
Now he can be a tough guy in prison.

It will be interesting to see what his sentence is. I doubt he'll do prison time. I predict he'll get a year in the workhouse and serve about 1/3 of it.

It depends on what the sentencing guidelines are. Seven years seems a bit harsh when compared to others who have been convicted of DWI and killing someone with their car. However, the victim in this case is disabled for life. I don't know how much money the cop has, but there will be a civil suit and he will lose.

No, actually, I think he will do some serious prison time, for the following reasons:

1. The VICTIM has suffered considerably, and has permanent injuries, which will affect his life to the end..

2. The PERP, should have known better, should have acted with more restraint, and could have used more "defensive moves" if he thought he was about to be attacked, especially when considering that he was a longtime VETERAN of a police dept.

He will lose his job (and hopefully his pension) as a cop, because he has been convicted of a FELONY, and ALL of his GUNS will be confiscated. When in a public place, a person has to be a LOT more careful as to how you react.

What I get really PO'd about, is that they got the BAC of the victim, but never could get it from the PERP, who ran away, which should tell you something.

So, Mr. Clifford should stock up on the BUTT LUBE, because I have a "feeling" that he's gonna be NEEDING it a LOT in the near future.
