It is sad that a rookie QB has to instigate these workouts!

Good for Ponder. Maybe he can get Rice to stay in Minnesota.

Adrian is in the last year of his contract and is due 11 mil. He can opt out of his 2012 year due to incentives reached. AD said he wants a new contract. Favre's 16 mil is going to be his starting point, especially with how poorly #4 played. How can the Vikes front office argue? Rice wants top 5 WR $$ but has an arthritic hip and played well one year and was hurt two others. Berrian is due 6 mil and is horrible not to mention a malcontent. Harvin is a stud but a medical mystery apparently. Jaymar Johnson has potential and drew rave reviews from Cris Carter and Fitz. Can he do it on the field? Last and most important. There is no OFFENSIVE line and Ponder will get killed or turnout like David Carr, Alex Smith. Sullivan is too small and oft hurt. McKinnie? we all know his shortcomings. Hutch is old. Herrera is terrible. Loadholt is looking more and more like McKinnie.

I agree with future concerns, herrera I cant decide yet when surrounded by mckinnie jr and sullivan. Berrian is gone I can't see him in purple again. I think fitz is in purple next year, he wants to come home, so that puts rice's future in question.

This is terrific and what I've been waiting to hear about the Vikings. Glad we got Ponder as he is showing leadership qualities by stepping forward and getting the ball going with some practice. good deal also that he got the playbook on the one day the lookout was lifted. Now lets get this stadium issue settled! Go Vikings, kick some butt!

Great news. With all these other teams having workouts, and haven't heard anything about viking players getting together to work out, its sad that it has to be a rookie QB that takes the initiative, but that just goes to shows that quality of person Ponder is and the leadership qualities he has. Now lets get more viking players on board for the workouts! Go VIKES!

I think ponder is a relief over the previous quarterbacks we have had in the past. Unlike tavaris he is very smart and very accurate. He has everything you need in a franchise qb. But i think the biggest steal in the draft was christian ballard.

i like it...the kid is all in already. AP...get your a s s down there as well...geez...i'm sure you can afford a plane ticket. i would like to see all of them get involved in this...well...exceptions go to BB...it wouldn't make any difference with him anyway. as for Ronald McKinnie...he probably has another 'racket' on the go, trying to lose a ton to get down to his 'tennis' weight. as others have noted, this kid has smarts and he is a leader...GO VIKES!!!

With a whole year to work out, this may turn out good. Next year's draft they can concentrate on O-line, D-B.
A year without football, maybe I'll take more.

Tell us how Aaron earned it from 2005 to 2008 he was a bench warmer & the coach gave Aaron the starting job A unproven quarterback & He had leadership & respect of the players without proving his self, Not only from the players the fans also. Same here Ponder has showed the players & us fans he has the leadership and therefore also has our respect. Go Vikings

It's refreshing to say the least. There is no way the vikings win a super-bowl with out a great leader at qb. But what makes this so awsome is that ponder is only a rookie and he's already showing that he can be a team leader.
