Dayton, New MnDOT Head Differ On Gas Tax Hike

Gov. Mark Dayton said Wednesday he opposes increasing the state's gas tax "at this time," putting him at odds with the man he appointed to lead Minnesota's Department of Transportation.

Gov GoogleyEyes handlers have told him that the gas tax is too divisive for him to support. Dayton's pending re-election effort is going to require him to allow others to support some issues that are too controversial for him to endorse.

So the strategy is for Dayton to publicly oppose it and then smile and reluctantly sign the increase when it lands on his desk.

So what does Smart Craphead recommend then? Our roads, highways and bridges are deteriorating at an alarming rate and need more investment just to maintain the system. A gas tax is a user fee.

Actually it doesn't matter what the paln is - Smart Craphead will criticize it.

A $.40 gas tax increase is $.12 more than the current state and federal gas tax combined. If you notice that smell, it is the load of crap is in your pants.

The proposal was for a 40 cent increase in the state gas tax OVER THE NEXT TWENTY YEARS.

Inflation alone will eat up most of that increase, and you have no way of comparing Minnesota to what over state's gas tax will be 20 years down the road.

Umm, the house and senate determine what our tax money is spent on. Would you rather have more bridges falling down? This one seems like a no-brainer - our infrastructure is crumbling and we need to find the money to fix it. This isn't a political issue.

Gas taxes WILL GO UP!!

The poor people least able to afford it will be affected most by the tax increase.

Gas taxes will be wasted on bike paths, having NOTHING TO DO with commuting.

Net result, the poor commuters least able to afford the tax increase will see no improvement in metro highways (goat paths).

Notice even on a perfect weather day metro goat paths are congested!!

Minnesota sucks!!!

Goofy eyes appointed a CEO of a Bus company to head MnDOT.

It's time Government place the priority for MnDOT on ROADS!!

The head of MnDOT should be a road builder from a state that has a proven track record of providing roads that accomodate the traffic demands of the people.

A wonderful example is highway 10 merge with I35W. 10 goes from 3 lanes to 2 lanes for the merge. Now anyone with a trace of grey matter knows if you have a road leading to a city you DON'T reduce the number of lanes as you get closer to the city.

The new MnDOT head will push the Libertard agenda to force more people onto the bus or LRT or NorthStar.

Minnesota sucks.

Libertards will take us backwards to horse and buggy days.
