Yesterday, The Big E referenced the city of Minneapolis's analysis of the 2012 election (PDF). There's a lot of interesting information contained in that document. To me, the most striking was this map, which compares early voting options in all 50 states. It's readily apparent that Minnesota is one of a handful of states that's fallen behind.

This simply isn't acceptable. We need to remove as many barriers to voting as we possibly can, and limiting voting to a single 13-hour window on a single day is an enormous barrier to many people. We can do better -- after all, 32 other states already have.

Minnesota has the highest percentage of registered voting in the nation. Our system works. Open more voting booths if the lines are too long. Early voting is wrong unless absolutely necessary. Election day is set in the constitution.

Early voting makes it easier for people to vote and increases turnout.
Why is it needed to make it easier to vote? It's already easy to vote in Minnesota. Vote on election day as the founding fathers intended.

Was the population the same as in the "founding father's time" or are you so stupid, you haven't noticed differences ???
