Hillary Clinton: Nation's gun culture 'way out of balance'

Common sense from our next president:

WASHINGTON Hillary Rodham Clinton said Tuesday the nation's gun culture has gotten "way out of balance" and the U.S. needs to rein in the notion that "anybody can have a gun, anywhere, anytime."

The former secretary of state and potential 2016 Democratic presidential candidate said the idea that anyone can have a gun is not in the "best interest of the vast majority of people." But she said that approach does not conflict with the rights of people to own firearms.

Clinton waded into the polarizing issue of gun politics during an appearance at the National Council for Behavioral Health conference in Oxon Hill, Maryland, pointing to recent shootings that involved teens who had been playing loud music and chewing gum and a separate incident involving the typing of text messages in a movie theater.

"I think again we're way out of balance. I think that we've got to rein in what has become an almost article of faith that anybody can have a gun anywhere, anytime," Clinton said. "And I don't believe that is in the best interest of the vast majority of people.

Hillary has not even declared her candidacy yet and may very well decide not to run. So don't count your old hens before they moult.

And if she wants to change rules, she will need to repeal the 2nd amendment. Good luck getting the states to ratify that.

Monica did Hillary a favor by getting her "story" out there way before the election. Defuse the issue before it can be used in Hillary's campaign.

Monica has done much with her life. Much more than the posters who feel the need to cast stones at her. Pile on if you must and here's hoping the karma smacks you right across the face.

Hillary speaks the truth. This isn't the wild wild west anymore. The US have the highest percentage of gun ownership of any developed nation and the highest percentage of shooting homicides of any developed country. It is time to bring the United States into the 21st Century.

Gun laws will change over the next decade. Look at ten years ago - gay marriage wasn't legal anywhere. The old guard is dying off of old age and being replaced by more logical people ready for change.

Minnesota Legislature made one change this year. Convicted domestic abusers are not allowed to posses a firearm. Once this is in effect it will be interesting to see how current convicted domestic abusers are stripped of their firearms by Government. Very interesting indeed. There may be a lot of SWAT action and some shootings triggered by the law, it's a good law thou.

The only vision I have of Monica is her under the desk in the WH with the president on the phone conducting official US business and Monica working over his middle leg. Of course there is the episode of the president giving Monica a cigar to I suppose satisfy a need and many jokes have been created from that. Then there is Monica's stained dress in the Smithsonian Museum, DNA was never tested. I always wondered if the presidents desk has a foam rubber pad under there to prevent someones head from being injured when doing a job under there. IMHO that president has the best self control of anyone, doing business while, you know getting one of those jobs. I often wonder IF there was a foam rubber pad under the desk if it's still there for current use? If it's there I wonder how many different DNA human hairs are stuck in it?

On the subject of "guns", if anyone served in the military they would understand they call a gun a guys middle leg. Any kind of military firearms is called a weapon and it's just one of many weapons the military trains everyone on.

I agree that the intent of the law is good. The end result might not be so good.
It may be a little disconcerting to see which methods of death and torture the abusers choose to inflict on their victims without the guns. Because once placed back in to those situations, with victims who are often more than willing to take them back, they will very likely offend again.

Gay marriage, while an issue of equal protection under the law if nothing else, is not directly protected or even mentioned under the constitution.
Gun ownership is. And within the top ten at that. And as I have said before, good luck trying to get the second amendment overturned. Good luck trying to even get congress to vote on it much less getting the states to ratify such a change. And even if such an unlikely thing should take place, would we then send the strom troopers out to collect up all of the guns? Yeah, that would work well now wouldn't it?

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is now ordering machine guns!

Maybe they are worried about a cut in the 50 million on food stamps?

Presumably it takes a lot of firepower to take down a rabid holstein.

Apparently, they are thinking that the holsteins are going to be firing back because they are also ordering bullet proof vests:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Inspector General, located in Washington, DC and Regional Offices, pursuant to the authority of FAR Part 13, has a requirement for the commerical acquisition of ballist vests, compliant with NIJ 0101.06 for Level IIIA Ballistic Resistance of body armor. Body armor is gender specific, lightweight, trauma plate/pad (hard or soft), concealable carrier, tactical vest, undergarment (white), identification patches, accessories (6 pouches), body armor carry bag, and professional measurements.

The various agencies of the US may be more prepared for war than some of our military.
