More proof of the lack of compassion by Republicans.

Republicans care only about dollars, not people.

67 Republicans who will be re-elected, the rest of the Rinos: not so much.
Only a fool considers flushing billions of tax dollars down the toilet "compassion!"
BTW: the money isn't going to "people", it's going to insurance companies.

No, the majority of the money is NOT going to insurance companies, and those 67 Republicans will face major opposition in their reelection bids as the result of their vote on this bill.

Proof that Republicans only care about money, not people.

How many evil democrats voted against civil rights legislation? Proof that all democrats want minorities to fail.

Wow this low brow logic is easy.

Don't any of these RICH LIBERALS on Long Island, and the Jersey coast have anything called INSURANCE??

Hurricanes have hit this area before, and they will hit again. Those states need to be PREPARED to deal such situations, and budget for them.

I didn't see any outpouring of goods, services, financial assistance, etc., when towns in MINNESOTA got WIPED CLEAN by TORNADOES. DID YOU?? Did you see power crews drive halfway across the country to help us restore our power or other infrastructure? NOPE, because it DIDN'T HAPPEN.

There was a reason why I didn't volunteer to go to Katrina ravaged LA. I heard that the locals down there robbed, pillaged, assaulted all kinds of people down there who tried to DO THE RIGHT THING, and they got robbed and beat up because of their efforts.

Yes, actually, Minnesota has had out of state utility companies helping out here a number of times in the last decade.

To compare a weak Minnesota tornado to one of the worst storms ever to hit the northeast is preposterous.

-$150 million for fishery disasters (primarily on the west coast)

-$2 million for roof repair at the Smithsonian in Washington

-$17 billion for liberal activists under the guise of "community development" funds and so-called social service grants

Explaining basic science to toddlers produces much better results and a higher ROI.

Since you care about people more than dollars, you should pay my mortgage for me for the next few months. I will send you a nice "Thank You" note after you do that.

it turns almost none of the money allocated in this bill that is being sped up to allow quick relief for Sandy victims will be spent in the near future. According to the Congressional Budget Office, only 15 percent would be spent this year. An additional 21 percent of the funds would be spent in the next fiscal year. That means 64 percent of the funding won’t be used until fiscal year 2015 or later.
