As we discussed in the previous GM thread, public owned companies are not "American owned" as the stocks are traded globally. GM is owned by the US Government with Obama as CEO. IMHO GM stock should be property of US taxpayers NOT US government.

I am constantly amazed at the stupidity of some who actually think there is something out there called "the Government", like it is some big building or something. We are the government, the people are the Government! So Damn right, the people should have the stock certificates for GM,not that tax cheater of a Treasury Secretary!

In the USA it's Government by the people for the people. ALL Government property is really just PUBLIC property. If people in Government want to make a profit, run utilities etc for profit then they need to start a business and make profit/loss. As it is towns run businesses and use taxes for backfilling when they need more profit allowing them to pay employees whatever they want to and charge whatever they want to in unregulated monopolies. It's all wrong!

How soon you forget the GM bailout, where the union got a share of the companies and the bondholders(retirement funds, wall street, etc.) got nothing.
