Why didn't they draft a QB last year or the year prior? I just don't get it...?

Given the Vikings 50 year history of self inflicted wounds, the Vikings are indeed on their deathbed.

Spielman should draft a priest.

If there is a way to screw this up, the Vikings will find it.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory is the only thing the Vikings have ever been good at.

Trade down. Build up the offensive line. After the first round pick take the best player available in the DL, DB, or OL. Wait for next year and trade the house for the Stanford kid for the first pick.

Yup! I agree, except that he'll sell the team to the LA group. How can fans, writers, and sports talk radio care in the least bit what the Vikings are going to do in the draft??? There is no way a stadium deal will be reached and there is no way the Vikings are going to continue to play in the Metrodump! NONE! NADA!

Take some lessons from those guys directly to our east. Realize for a team to be built right it needs to be imploded and many, many new young bodies need to be added to camp. It will need to be a competition for a roster spot, starting spot, and ball boy spot. The Vikes swung for the fences with their free-agent philosphies of the past -- trade picks for Hutch & Allen; mortgage 20% of the payroll on Favre... it got them to the fence, but it was still an out. And, two years after Favre came to Minnesota, where are we? Worse than where we started. The previous plan was a short-term approach and now Minnesota will suffer unless a long-term approach is implemented. Trade down, accumulate picks, and bring a bunch of young hungry football guys to camp.

the entire Vikings front office is a joke. The fact that they all say back and let Klink totally ruin this team is unacceptable and a consequence that this franchise will pay for for years to come. He singlehandedly destroyed the future of this franchise and the entire front office just sat back and let hin do it.....they got what they deserve, which was last place last year and will repeat again this year as well......

Because Klink was too stubborn to admit that he made a mistake in drafting TJ.

I am in agreement with some of the comments. First; there has to be some kind of settlement on the stadium issue--either they build or do not build. Second; the lease of the Dome has to be extended with the stadium issue be settled by the building of the new stadium. Third; the location of the new stadium has to be settled as well. Fourth; the lockout must be settled in a way of most of the folks will be happy--you will not get a 100% satisfaction. Finally; all things considered, I do feel that the Vikings are history here in Minnesota because of many reasons including the current visible to the public ones. They will join all the teams of our state as being the "former" team name.

Funny how Chilly said he left the organiztion better than he found it. More holes than Swiss cheese and no quarterback.

Unless Gabbert falls, take the best player available at 12 or trade down and take the best OL, or Locker/Mallett. Ya, we have holes, but those can be filled with a solid draft and some FA signings, including signing Rice and Edwards within. We do have the skill positions filled with Peterson/Harvin/Rice and our DL is still solid. QB, OL and DB is the two largest question marks. May take two years though.

We don't have to address our starting QB in this year's draft. Build the foundation for the future with the OL, DL, and DB's - the rest will fall into place.

This team will always be in chaos until Zygi figures out that he needs a president or a GM in charge of football operations, One guy has to make the call, not a committee
