“Obviously, it will piss off our bosses even more than before,” KFC worker Joe Barrera told Salon in a pre-strike interview. Barrera, 22, said that over his seven years in the industry,“we’ve had our complaints, but no one actually spoke out about it

Really? Seven years working at fast food joints for minimum wage? Ever think of changing jobs?$15.00 hr? It's the "you owe me" generation in full bloom. Maybe they should beg mayor Bloomberg to help you. Then he can pass a new mandate forcing restaurants to pay $20.00 hr.

Funny, you obviously hate American workers wanting a living wage and want their labor for less than the market will bear...Go to China, outsource your anger/hunger...

Of course, you can always replace them, like you did the security & janitors ??

Oh yeah, MANAGEMENT FOLDED !!!

Barrera, who’s paid the $7.25 minimum wage, said that a decent raise would allow him to stop skipping meals and start pursuing college.“Maybe I could afford to have a girlfriend, take her out on a date …” he added.“All of that money goes right now to just surviving.”

Other "options" cost money, you're just CHEAP !!!

Be horrible to give poor working class kids any chance to improve their lives, right teabagger ???

Sure, they could be janitors & security guards, where you'll complain they should improve themselves with college, when it's clear(to anyone intelligent) it's too costly.

If you have 7 years on the job and are still making minimum wage, you are getting what you deserve.

----------

If the workers strike for higher wages, how long do you think it will take to automate the restaurants and cut the number of employees in half?

6 months to 1 year

Bye-bye jobs.

After seven years and this guy is still only making minimum wage? He should at least be an assistant manager by now. Time to move on and see if you're better at something else.

seven years at a fast food joint says the male does not want to better himself.
.
it is even more so when the person has worked at a fast food restaurant as a cashier for fifteen years. and also has a spouse that is the main breadwinnter

Svengoolie has flipped many a burger in her day. Be it a furburger or be it a fishburger she's had plenty at the female gay bars. She flips her over and eats from a different direction. Her man likes to watch.

The guy is so stupid that he tells Salon in advance about a 'surprise' strike. He's paid just what he's worth.

and at those part time hours. at least they would have the time to seek out other employment. better pay and better hours.
.
thing is, many of them refuse to for one or more reasons.
.
found out why in one case why one refused to leave his fast food job. especially since it was a place aimed at children..... and he had been working for that company for close to a decade at the time I found out. makes one wonder how many of his kind are working at such places?
.
a job at a fast food restaurant is ok if it is helping you pay your way thru college. or if you are retired and want to work. but it is NOT ok as a career,

if you had really had read what I wrote. I was talking about those who worked fast food jobs and refused to better themselves in by getting a much better job.
.
you forget that I, unlike you, worked for nearly twenty years in a FULL time job.
.
and as I pointed out. a good housewife is a much needed support person for her husband. this way her husband does NOT have to do any housework. at least I KNOW that housework is work in it's own way. I, unlike you, know that it does take effort to do housework. I refuse to have a lazy person's(you) form of housework. I do not have much in the way of technology.
.
unlike you. I dont live in my mom's basement and expect her to do my housework for me. I am a wife as well as a mom. I take care of my family. unlike you, I cook my meals from scratch. I do not rely on factory made foods.
.
try actually do housework. you will realize that it is never ending. because there is always something to be done in the way of housework. be it cleaning, cooking, laundry, child care, etc..... thing is, unlike a outside job, where you can leave after your hours are over. a housewife lives at where she works. meaning she can not leave her job. and a good housewife refuses to leave it to someone else. since they do not keep it as she does. in most cases, they can not keep it as clean. since they do not have the same incentive to do so.
.
lets see how you are once you get out of middle school. since you do not know what it is like to be out on your own.

If you have to post lies, like you just did, you're either a multiple moniker moron, or a retard.

Blathering against working Americans is the doom of your party...either way.

These restaurants are way ahead of you SL. They have been working towards automation for a long time. Just like bank tellers, the days of the cashier at McDonalds are not long for this world. Have you noticed the fancy automated drink dispenser that is tied directly in to their POS system?

Obviously, I am not up on the current technology utilized in fast food establishments or I would have known that.

It just makes sense though. If you can buy a machine for $100K and replace 3 workers (even at minimum wage), you are money ahead when you hit year #2.

As you said cant, just like bank tellers. Jobs will be automated.
