Buiness Climate in Minnesota

When South Dakota Governor Bill Janklow and Minnesota Governor Rudy Perpich were taking verbal shots at each other in the early 1980s about business climate, that was news, mostly because Janklow and Perpich were the highest ranking elected officials of their respective states, and because in those days neighboring Governors were typically genteel with each other. This was something new.

But today the St. Paul Pioneer Press ran a breathless piece on its front page, above the fold, about a relatively obscure Tea Party-backed state legislator, Wisconsin State Rep. Erik Serverson (R-Osceola), who wrote a little letter taking a shot at Minnesota about taxes.

A Tea Partier griping about taxes. Gee, Iíve never heard that before. Seriously, this is news, Pioneer Press? It would have been news if this Tea Partier wasnít opposing Daytonís tax reform plan.

If the Pioneer Press wants to put something like this in its political blog, an editorial, a Soucheray snark-o-gram or as a News Brief item, fine. But front page news? Above the fold? Twenty-seven column inches? Wow.

I know that the Pioneer Press is trying soooo hard to make itself into the conservative alternative to the Star Tribune.(See itís shameful editorial last fall in favor of banning gay marriage.) That strikes me as an curious business decision for a publication serving one of the most liberal areas of the state ó Obama won Ramsey County by 35 points in 2012, and won in neighboring Washington and Dakota Counties as well ó but thatís their call.

Still, taking a highly predictable pot shot from a low-level Tea Party-affiliated legislator and making it into front page news strains the bounds of journalistic credibility.

Do tax increases kill jobs? Minn. soon to find out
By PATRICK CONDON | Associated Press Ė 2 hrs 16 mins ago...

MINNEAPOLIS (AP)ó Dik Bolger is a lifelong Minnesota Democrat, a gray-bearded baby boomer with a braid down his back whose Minneapolis printing company's plant displays work by local artists and sculptors. He backed Mark Dayton for governor, but his take on the Democratic chief executive's plan for new business taxes could be the voice-over for a Republican campaign commercial.

"We're screwed," Bolger said, if the tax goes through. His 79-year-old company competes nationwide and overseas for work with major brands like Chanel. "If you're bidding for a $100,000 job on a national basis and tax expenses push you a couple of percent higher, then I'm not competitive."

For generations, Minnesotans lived out the progressive argument that high taxes and high services were what gave the state its fabled quality of life. But the patience of business owners is being tried more than ever, as Dayton and the Democrats who now control the Capitol mull a menu of tax increases that would primarily hit company ledgers ó just as most states are going the opposite way.

Dayton has proposed tax changes he says would make the system fairer and also bring in $2 billion in new revenue. Much of the gain would come from a state sales tax on "business-to-business " purchases like legal, accounting, banking and printing costs. Few states tax such services. He would also boost Minnesota's personal income tax rates from eighth to fourth highest in the nation, behind only Hawaii, California and Oregon.

Hey Dik, elections have consequences.

America is a country today that has an oppressive Government that is run by Collectivist Bureaucrats (Spell that Communist Lite).

Poiticians come and go, as it should be.
But the Collectivist Bureaucrats are forever.

Until We the People demand that our Employees act as employees of ours, and not rulers of ours, until we demand that we are the boss and that if the Government Dependent wants to "WORK" for us, we the people as their employers will dictate what their "WORK" is.

Administrators, Lawyers, Sheriffs, Jailers, Judges, Teachers, Street Sweepers, the list goes on and on. ALL of them are employees of we the people.

How to fix this?

Sadly, the Demokrat Party of Amerika has captured the Government Dependents as a Permanent Voting Block.(The Demokrats "base")

Today, because of the Demokrat Party of Amerika, these Collectivists do 1/2 the work of their counterparts in For Profit AMERICAN Type business, and receive compensation from we the people that requires about 3 Productive Americans Taxes to be confiscated for redistribution to the Collectivist Dependent with a Government job.

IF there was ANY Value in what these Dependents do, We the people would be demanding that our Employees be highly compensated.

NOBODY, not even the neediest Welfare Dependent would ever claim that the service we the people get from our employees is "good", let alone excellent, as it should be based on the excessive compensation that we the people pay for these Dependents to have a "JOB".

The Demokrats are not going to give up these Sheeple as their "base".

If they did, the Demokrat Party of Amerika would cease to exist.

When Americans decide it is time to take back our country from the 10%'rs that have elected a King, we need to limit who has a Vote not only to Americans that are productive and pay the Taxes that sustain their neighbors, but also make it a "Requirement of Employment", taht the Sheeple who want to work for us in the Government at Minimum Wage, give up their Right to Vote as a cost of Employment.

No more robbing the Productive to sustain the Dependents at the Ballot Box!

Just accept that you are not smart enough to engage with others on these pages!

WHY do you insist on humiliating yourself consistently?

You have no contrary points to offer ever, but you content yourself that your anonymity allows you to "hit the big kids" then run for cover.

You do not even have the personal integrity to create and use one Topix Name. Your are so shallow as a Human Being that your needs are satiated by posting as me and trolling about changing your name whenever I hurt your Childlike Feelings. Do you understand your conditions?

Do you know what the symptom is of your Mental Illness that causes you to be of such Low Character/

You get ONE Point for the attempt.

I do not know what PRIDE Facility you go to to get paid by charity, but be thankful that places like PRIDE exist so that you have some spending cash when you get a chance to leave Mommy's Spare Bedroom!

A self-inflicted wound (SIW), is the act of harming oneself where there are no underlying psychological problems related to the self-injury, but where the injurer wanted to take advantage of being injured.

Unlike you, who sits home collecting your government check each month, I work for a living for a Fortune 500 company and pay taxes, including what pays for your medical care.

You should be thanking me.

It is clear from your many posts as a Victim Demokrat that you are an Executive making command decisions in the Communal Fortune 500 company that seeks first to be Economic Patriots as defined by your Messiah!

You Executives are notorious for creating Strawman like your attempted slam on me with the "Government Check fallacy" you repeat repeatedly as you form your Defensive reaction, from your position of an Insecure Executive!

Phony is one thing here with strangers, but to be so blatantly ignorant that you cannot see from your Executive Chamber how transparent you are in your phoniness should shame any Executive like you.
