The Number One Reason Children Are Living In Poverty

The number one cause of childhood poverty is out of wedlock births. The percentage of children born to married parents living in poverty is about 7% while the percentage of children born out of wedlock living in poverty is 38%.
Read this BEFORE you decide to have a child outside of marriage....
It is so sad that people have no morals anymore. It is even sadder that they bring children into the world KNOWING that they will live in poverty.
Look at these statistics....
Percentage of children born out of wedlock by race/ethnicity:
Number of people incarcerated by race/ethnicity:
High School drop out rates by race/ethnicity:
White- 18% of students dropped out of school
Hispanic- 34% of students dropped out of school
Black- 37% of students dropped out of school
Single mothers on welfare are costing this country about $30,000 per household a year! I say single mothers because the poverty rate for single fathers is far less. The irresponsible, out of wedlock breeding has to stop. Not just because of the money it costs the tax payers, but so the children have a shot at a good life.

Hey there, Mr. Morality, if the world followed YOUR logic Jesus Christ would never have been born, seeing his parents were poor.
It is a right for all humans to have a family, as far as I am concerned.
If you were really concerned, instead of whining you'd be looking for solutions to the poverty problem.

Are you mentally impaired? The solution to the poverty problem is two married parents with jobs. Is that too complicated for your simple little troll mind?
As far as you're concerned it is a RIGHT for the non-productive to take from the productive.(AKA: Obamanomics)

And I should have a right not to pay for your family. The solution is ~ no dependent tax breaks. Pay for your own kids.

First off it is Mrs. Morality...actually it is Dr. Morality, but you can call me Dr. M for short.
I agree all people have a right to a family....when THEY can afford to support a family!! Not when they tax payers have to foot the bill for raising their children. Over 80% of children born out of wedlock are born on Medicaid!
How do you propose I find solutions to the poverty problem? Am I to sneak into people's bedrooms and tell them to not have unprotected sex? I am trying to prevent children growing up in poverty by informing people if you have a child out of wedlock that child is very very likely to live in poverty. Maybe this will help....97% of couples who have a child out of wedlock do not stay together. And less than 15% of men who father a child out of wedlock pay child support regularly. On the other hand less than 5% of women who have a child out of wedlock pay child support regularly when the father has custody. So it's not just a problem with men....it is a problem with people who have sex without taking responsibility for the consequences.
Children need 2 parents. Children deserve 2 parents. If you are not willing to get married and give children the love and security they need then don't have sex without using protection. And I mean BOTH parties need to use protection!! I am not naive enough to suggest people wait to have sex until they are married. I know that will never happen because the level of morality left in this country is at rock bottom, but the level of responsibility is getting lower and lower each year...and the children are the ones paying the biggest price.
