Then support Capital Punishment and thin out the thugs.

You can not expect people to give up personal protection in the environment that we live in. You will not even get them to discuss it until you kill off some of the scum.

Three "reasonable" points the gun control freaks all push for and use as examples of a "first step" in making this country safer:

1. Ban assault type weapons.
2. Ban high capacity magazines/
3. Make the sellers of guns at gun shows run background checks on everyone they sell to.

The only problem is that CT is the poster child for Gun Control. They have all three of the above laws on the books and enforce them, according to the CT State Police.

Didn't work so well, did it?

A better alternative is to have teachers and/or administrators armed in all school buildings. They could neutralize the situation until the first responders arrive and minimize or eliminate the carnage that these animals wreak upon the young innocent children.

What an idiot. You can drive 60 miles from anywhere in CT and buy these. We need a NATIONAL ban.

The fact is that they are ilegal in CT. That did not stop Lanza. Laws will not stop those that are going to break the law.

But trained, armed teachers and administrators can put a stop to this carnage.

leave because I'd go berserk?? Well...
You left me anyhow and then the days got worse and worse and now you see
I've gone completely out of my mind.. And..
They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!!
They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa
To the funny farm. Where life is beautiful all the time and I'll be
happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats and they're
coming to take me away, ha-haaa!!!!!

You thought it was a joke and so you laughed, you laughed when I had said
that loosing you would make me flip my lid.. RIGHT???
I know you laughed, I heard you laugh, you laughed you laughed and
laughed and then you left, but now you know I'm utterly mad... And..

They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa,
They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa.
To the happy home. With trees and flowers and chirping birds and basket
weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes and they're
coming to take me away, ha-haaa!!!

You are god damned right guns and other non-lethal weapons ought to be in every school.

I care about the kids. You obviously don't. You would rather allow some sicko like Lanza free access to blow away innocent little children and not do a damned thing to protect them.

You are one sick bastard.

As one who comes from a family full members of the field of law enforcement (both retired and active), and the judicial field, I am probably a hell of a lot more qualified than you to speak on this.

I have spoken to 2 retired police officers who were the ones to raise this issue with me. They are right. It is the best approach for keeping the kids safe.

The idea is good but the implementation is near impossible. Think about how many schools there are in the greater Twin Cities. Public, private, parochial, elementary, middle and high school, plus charter schools. Now for there to be adequate security in each school and to have them there 5 days a week, 6 to 7 hours each day for 9 months (not including holidays) is really not a feasible or practical idea. So where do you spot these retired officers?

Interesting comparison between Newton, CT and Columbine, CO. Both cities have comparable populations, comparable family incomes, comparable population demographics (91% white). Another words a typical outer ring suburb from a larger population area. A wonderful place to raise a family, except now these two towns have a terrible stain on their town. Not exactly where one would think a tragedy such as this could happen. Evil knows no color,no demographics, no income levels, no politics and it obviously can happen ANYWHERE IN THE US.
