gimme a break. it was and fairly epic snow storm!! This is first problem in 20+ years. Not a justification for a 400million dollar stadium. I might question the maintainence though.

Wizcone,

"Why does it matter that Zygi is a gazillionair? If the vikings generate 20 million/yr to MN in tax revenue, then the state should be willion to throw in $3-400million to build the stadium."

Even if I assume these numbers that clearly came from your ass are correct you realize $20M < $300M right?

Furthermore the Vikings are asking for more like $700M.

So it would take 35 years of tax revenue for the vikings to put in as much as they are asking for a stadium.

Also by this standard any business that makes a profit and pays taxes deserves to get the tax money they bring in back.

Actually if you were advocating for the end of the tax code as we know it, I'm starting to agree.

"Perhaps coincidentally, I have concerns about watching you guys play next year."

Don't worry the lockout will take care of that.

Build a new stadium the revenue that it generates makes $ense and not to mention the work/ jobs.. If you talk of waisting tax payers money then your out of touch with reality $700 million is nothing.

If they are so concerned they should pool their huge access to resources and build their own stadium!!

If the state and country were both rolling now this would be a much easier call, public funding for anything right now is a hot taxpayer topic. I can't speak for anyone else as none of us can but we all have an opinion and we are all entitled to one. My opinion won't matter in the end like the rest of them here but here's mine.

I'll never forget when the North Stars left and what it took in time and cost to get a new team called the Wild. I see the same scenario for pro football here if the Viking's leave. I have to believe that a lot of the posters here who are against any form of funding enjoy watching the games on their TV's whether they admit it not. If your a Viking fan at all, what will you do on Sundays in the Fall during those exciting three hours, become a Packer or Bears fan?

Like I said, I can only speak for me, and I don't ever want to see them leave. This world is tough enough and I enjoy the break from it.

Guard your wallets, a billionaire wants you to pay for his stadium.

As long as your owner is not local, you stand a decent chance of having your franchise uprooted and moved. Remember Norm Green and the North Stars

News flash the Vikings are not going to California. The league doesn't want to move the Vikings. In terms of moving teams it's Jacksonville first, then Buffalo.
The league cares about one thing and one thing only. Generating revenue!

The Metrodome has served its purpose well and now its time to move on. Its alot like buying a cheap car, its now expired, and its time to upgrade. I personally am willing to pay an extra 1/2 cent per beer downtown to get this thing built. Get'er done!

You're an idiot. The Vikings aren't paying to fix the roof.

The current problems with the dome made Zygi happier than he11. Safety of fans is the one angle that hasn't been tried yet in the quest for funding.

Building the TCF Bank stadium was the second biggest stadium mistake made in Minnesota. The Gophers weren't going anywhere. The football stadium should have been built as a joint stadium with the Gophers and Vkings. If the Jets and Giants can find a way to share a stadium it could have been done her as well.

I know the legislators who are involved in the issue regarding the Viking makes them feel important, when in reality they are doing nothing other than wasting valuable tax payer money on the time they spend pretending they're important.
Then they can worry about earthquakes.
