Why does it matter that Zygi is a gazillionair? If the vikings generate 20 million/yr to MN in tax revenue, then the state should be willion to throw in $3-400million to build the stadium.

If you were leasing an apartment and the roof caved in what would you do?

Bagley's concern is warranted.
How many inches of snow would it take to tear the roof?
17 this time, want to try to get insurance on that roof now?

For how bad this situation makes us look nationally, the Vikings organization has done a good job as to not stand on the pulpit and scream "See! I told you so!"

News flash the Vikings are not going to California. The league doesn't want to move the Vikings. In terms of moving teams it's Jacksonville first, then Buffalo.

I have concerns about the Vikings Playing in Minnesota. Maybe the Vikings should worry more about winning football games instead of building their Tajmahall on the prairie!

I suppose many treat this predictable posturing for public subsidies as news. Ziggy has had concerns from day 1 when he wanted us to subsidize his business.

Allow the dome to get weak with deferred maintenance, don't keep spare parts on hand, don't have a plan for fixing damage. Don't clean it between snowstorms. Don't replace the dome as it ages..

And viola! you have another excuse for billionaire welfare.

The $20 million you paid your loser Diva quarterback to throw interceptions this year would have gone a long way towards fixing the roof

Demand the taxpayers give me a billion dollars or I'll keep throwing a tantrum.

Or I could, you know, go buy a house or something. Radical, I know.

I am not the owner but if I were--my stance would be--build or I am gone--period!!!!! I am looking at dollar signs and not fans or the public. 50 years has some value but not in my pocketbook. All of my posturing is to make me look good and the others the bad guys. Posturing is the sense of talking of the wanting to keep the team here publicly but privately couldn't give a rat's backside. Although the Vikings spokesperson does have a point about the safety of the Dome fabric. Any event held there could have a problem with the roof during lousy weather--if it falls with snow, how about high winds and heavy rains--would it hold it? What kind of construction would be needed to take the roof off and winterize the building in the cold months? It would lose those indoor events during the winter months, but could it be done.

I'm not sure that you have any reason to laugh. Your team got blown out last week and your season will end exactly one week after ours.

If the Viking have concerns about playing in the Dome then they should sell the franchise, move the Vikings out to California where snow is not a problem, leave Minnesota tax payers alone. I know the legislators who are involved in the issue regarding the Viking makes them feel important, when in reality they are doing nothing other than wasting valuable tax payer money on the time they spend pretending they're important.

Umm... The Vikings and Wilf do not control the Metrodome. They aren't responsible for maintenance, keeping spare parts on hand, fixing damage, cleaning it, or replacing the dome.

That responsibility belongs to the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission: http://www.msfc.com/

The MSFC wants to keep the Vikings in the Metrodome, and the Vikings don't want to stay. So, use your brains and figure out just how reality works.

Or is this taking the quotes from his WCCO interview this morning with Esme Murphy?
