The injuries and illnesses are unbelievable this season. Are other teams plagued in the same way as the Twins? The Twins look as if they're going to be extremely dependent on good starting pitching this season.

Mauer is 28? You'd think he was 50! He is the Gaborik of the MLB!

just what the twins needed---a catcher who has weak legs--maybe they should fire gardy and give the job to mauer and get some use out of him. he could walk to the mound each inning and signal the bullpen!!

It's tough to be without both Thome and Repko with two games today. I guess the rest of the team will get plenty of work. Tosoni will appreciate that I am sure.

Its not mauer's fault. He's gotta change positions. Bill Smith traded the best catching prospect last year for a closer that is average (Capps). IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!

blah blah blah. Here is an idea Joe. You make 23 Million dollars a year. It is your responsibility to make sure you are ready for the season. So spending the off season making commercials and personal appearances might need to stop.

Signing Joe Mauer to an 8 year contact was the biggest mistake that the Twins could have made. He has maybe a year or two of good years left. Thanks to Joe Mauer, ticket prices will remain high, while the Twins are going to struggle in the Central Division. I don't see the Twins even making the playoffs anytime soon unless they can unload Mauer to another team who is dumb enough to pay his salary.

Give these candy stripers a contract with a set number of sick days, just like the real people that paid for the stadium that they PLAY in. Mauer get 15 sick days, be it practices or games. After that any missed days and he doesn't get paid. He should also be getting harassed by management, written up, and given verbal warnings etc. I have tired legs and a worn out mind but I am still expected to do my job. I guess with big salaries come low expectations? The Twins look like a high school ball club right now. Gardi? What were you doing down in FLA for all that time? At least its nice to sit outside in your Parka in April and watch the Twins roll over and cower.

The whole situation with Mauer appears to have been mishandled from the end of the 2010 season to this point; however, it's hard to say who's to blame. What has a lot of us frustrated is Mauer's off-season. If Mauer had his surgery in October, he should have had four solid months to get ready. This dinosaur has a tough time understanding how a 28 year-old professional athlete, though a catcher, can have so much difficulty recovering from what was supposed to be minor surgery and also with his strength conditioning. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see whether the Twins new starting catcher can keep his batting average from dipping below .100.

And just think...It's still April. At this rate Joey will be out of sick days by the middle of May!

I guess Joe has more time for commercial endorsements. There is no excuse not to be ready for the season. Embarrasing Joe
