I think that’s a transitive verb. And no I aint got no learnen!<quoted text>
Have we resorted to correcting my grammar? Which, by the way, is correct. Do you happen to have any higher education in written English? I do. Go ahead, type that phrase into your Microsoft word as a complete sentence and grammar check it. Either way, I am glad we are down to simply picking at the grammar of my posts... On an internet message board, no less. But that of course means that you have found, as I already knew, that you have no argument out of the content that I have included. Checkmate. Feel it slipping yet? I hope you like my gift to you of a new America. You seem grumpy. Make sure the nurse changes your Depends. It must really **** to sit around in your own waste. Good Luck at Bingo tonight.

Thank you. I am happy to disgust you. If I didn't, I wouldn't feel good about myself. And, of course, we all know how important self esteem is. |

It's true... my attitude really S U C K S. I am mean. I make little kids and ugly girls cry. Of course, my attitude isn't quite as bad as Bush's economy, which may actually be the real reason for the high unemployment rate and underpaid workforce. Of course you wouldn't want to hear about that, now would you? |

1 Your attitude is pretty much as bad as the economy from my vantage......... |

1 "pretty much as bad" hmmm... that still means that you acknowledge that the economy is worse... I'll take it. Oh, and it isn't really pessimism or optimism. It's realism. My attitude really has nothing to do with it. I am posting real truth. The economy is bad. There are less jobs. People are underpaid. My investments lose money daily. About 10% this year. You might want to check on your own retirement. Stating the truth is not a poor attitude. Even complaining about things you have little control over does not designate a poor attitude. It is how you act on the things you can change that make all of the difference, and are the true test of character, isn't it? I have acknowledged that the job outlook is not good, however, someone with a bad attitude might say "There aren't any decent jobs, why bother?" and you have yet to see me say anything resembling that. Just because finding a better job has become more difficult that it was in past years doesn't mean I have given up looking. I am unhappy with the government, but I am not downtown dancing in the streets, busting out windows, and throwing dookie like a primate. I should think that maybe that attitude might be a shade worse than just talking about the things I don't like on an internet forum. Many of you who don't see where I am coming from likely got into the job you are in right now during better economic times and are happy with where you are at. I hope you don't have to start looking for a new one in the current market. Think about it for a second. When did you start the job you are working now? Who was president? |

1 These aren't the poor - these are college kids whose schools dont start until next week. And those of us just making it here in Saint paul don't WANT a bunch of vagrants camped in our parks and busting up the place. We give to charities (more than almost any locale in the country) and we worked hard to plant those trees ourselves and rebuild a city that had become derelict. If the movement wants to hold protests, they should get people to house protesters in their own homes - and observe the ordinary civilities of the neighborhood. |

1 Contempt for the Bingo player is unbecoming the revolutionary. Unless you're one of the vanguardist intellectuals we know will betray the revolution. A little self-criticism is a healthy thing, said one intellectual theorist of revolution whose name escapes me at the moment. |

1 I got sick of corporate america about 6 years ago and I am now self employed with my knowledge being my job security, as it is in an information based society. I change "employers" every 6 months to a year. Once again, if you don't like what you are doing/making, make an effort to change it, or get the education you need to do something else. |

Sure. I'm a police officer. I worked my way through 4 years of college schlepping drinks at a bar and taking out student loans. When I graduated I began applying for jobs. Most job openings had 200 or more applicants for 1 or 2 openings. I kept slinging drinks and applying for jobs for more than 9 months before I got picked up by a department. Not the department of my dreams, but hey it was a job. I worked that job for several years until I could move to the department I really wanted to work for. Now, more than 10 years later, I'm happily employed and have a great pension. I thought of giving up more than once when the market was crap, but I did everything I could to make myself more marketable and applied for EVERY job opening I could find. I spent the first 6 or 7 years of my career paying off student loans and working my way up the food chain. So don't cry to me about a bad job market, etc, etc.. I've been there. |

Great post, officer. I been there on my career path.
Remids me of Babe Ruth's stats when he was the Home Run King. He was also the Strike Out King. Moral: It's how many time you got to bat. Just reading about the Beatles. Brian Epstein was their publicist and manager. He got EMI recording company to say "yes." He didn't tell them at the time and no-one at EMI asked, but he had been turned down by every other recording company not only in London but all over Great Britain. EMI was the last recording company. And he had feared they would certainly be the one to turn down the Beatles. Now that's GRIT! And--right place/right time. You can't get a chance to get a hit if you're not at bat. |

You get only the highest respect from me. I have a couple of friends who are cops and you guys do a job that I could never do. |
