A 12-year-old boy has died after being placed in a medically induced coma following a fight at his suburban Philadelphia school.

Bailey O'Neill died Sunday, a family member who did not want to be named, confirmed to ABCNews.com . Bailey turned 12 on Saturday. He was taken off life support Sunday morning.

In January, Bailey was involved in a fight at Darby Township School in Upper Darby, Pa., west of Philadelphia, Jan. 10. The boy was allegedly jumped by two classmates, one of whom hit him in the face several times fracturing his nose, his father Rob O'Neill told ABC affiliate WPVI.

Bailey was knocked down in the incident, his father told the station, which caused a concussion. From then on, something with the 6th grader wasn't right, his father said.

Hold them accountable and put them in a Juvenile facility for a long, long time. Bullying is an epidemic and has been for many years. The sad part is, it is commonly denied by school staff and the victim is made to think that it is their fault or they did something wrong. The school counselor may ask the victims parents to take the victim to counseling. Get Real. The bully is the one who should be in counseling. It takes a brave ethical teacher to actually intervene and call it what it is.

Why does the news call this bullying instead of assault or ever murder? Well at least those two murders each received a 2 day suspension for attacking a student, breaking his nose, giving him a concussion, and eventually killing him.

Because it was part of a long term bullying of this child. Make sense now?

No, he is dead from an single attack, not from "long term bullying". When you beat someone to death it has gone beyond bullying.

He suffered from long term bullying that eventual led to his death. If the bullying had been recognized and stopped earlier, Bailey would most likely still be alive.

CNN, MSNBC, ABC, HuffPost, Foxnews, none of these mention previous incidences. They all call this single incident an act of bullying. Even the lead investigator said that he was looking into it to see if it was an act of bullying or just a play ground altercation.
