Isn't that wonderful that public funded non profits activists are passing smoking bans in service clubs driving off the reliable customers, The service clubs now are short of funds to re imburse an honor guard to lay a solider in his grave.

$5,000 to give away komrade? Your freeloading socialists from MPAAT AKA Clearway Minnesota can rot in hell, Or a sanctuary city of the same ilk.
Go and win your own money back sheepsters.

MPAAT AKA CLEARWAY MINNESOTA

Was In a district Court room in front of Judge michael J. Fetsch, It seems the Dr Hurt The CEO (appointee) of MPAAT was giving out non p[rofit public funds to his personal friends, MPAAT was spending NOTHING on helping smokers quit like their "sidebar tobacco robbery contract calls for"

Judge Fetsch was not real happy with the Freeloading MPAAT cartel because their idea of helping people quit smoking was to send them two small rocks to rub together, Still not much better at the MPAAT Cartel, They are now resorting to a gambling tactic to get people to say they dont smoke anymore.

Since MPAAT lobbied the dusfunctional Democrats to raise tobacco taxes above and beyond reason over 17% of minnesota smokers no longer buy Minnesota Mafia MPAAT tobacco. The dimwits at MPAAT asked the department of revenue How much Tobacco Tax they collected... DOWN 17% Gadzooks MPAAT sent out a $1,000.00 pr newswire press release stating that they have driven smoking in minnesota down to 16.9%

Even though the smoking rate in minnesota has NEVER varied from 24-25% in the last fifteen years, It appears the dimwits at MPQAAT and their democrat eneblers and a RINO governor have pricesd their self right out of tobacco sales competetion.

Only In Dysfunctional Non profit Minnesota friends.

Don't that make you proud and send an Obama chill up your leg?

How much do the administrators of this contest make? I bet it is more than the $500 gift card they are giving away.

And how about the ad agency that thought up this little contest? You think that cost a mere $500?

Minnesotans are again scammed by the smoking police.

This contest costs a lot less than the hundreds of millions of dollars that smoking costs Minnesotans each year.

the tobacco tax on a legal product is about 775 million generated for the tax base , on top of that minnesota took about another 600 million in settlement funds just this year, so what would minnesota revenue problem be if without the 1.3 billion in revenue that minnesota used this year. if you weighed 700lbs and smoked and died , you would be one of the stats about cigarettes killed you.

Numb nuts, I am not a smoker and abhore that habit. But there is one little problem ... tobacco is a legal substance in the USA and the government depends heavily on smokers to jack up tax collections.

If politicians had any balls or integrity they would make tobacco and all tobacco products illegal.

Think they will?

Utter nonsense and "health nazi" propaganda. Real smoking related illnesses like emphysema and cancer and COPD actually cost the system less because the victims die younger and don't accrue all of that end of life care that is so expensive and generally depletes the savings those who need it. This is not a myth but rather a fact that was first published in European medical journals and then in the NEw England medical journal. And by "real" i mean diseases that can actually be attributed to smoking, no someone who smoked and died of kidney failure, or someone who smoked and was hit by a car. Arch may be a little out there but he is spot on about the anti smoking war being a money grab and an attempt at social engineering.

Of course, the reason they tax cigarettes has nothing to do with health; it's all about revenues. They picked something that people are addicted to. That means demand is inelastic so big changes in price don't relate to big changes in consumption. Perfect, we can tax the crap out of it and people will keep buying it and the taxes will keep flowing. And what's the last part? They'll spend it leaving them looking for yet more.

Tell me, do you get this information from the mother ship via your tin foil hat?

Tell us again how the moon landings were faked in the Arizona desert. I always enjoyed that one.

Smoking is bad for one's health. Easy Spike, I didn't say it wasn't. But the reason government taxes smoking is for the money. They can tax the hell out of it knowing that the addicts will keep paying.

Do the research and you will find it to he true. You have to dig a little since the anti-smoking fanatics have a much larger presence on the web. But it is there.
