House Republicans spent hours on Capitol Hill Saturday as a government shutdown loomed, but that didn't stop some of them from having a little weekend fun.

Reporters tweeted that they could see -- and smell -- several Congressmen enjoying a drink while working:

I'm not over exaggerating when I say I can smell the booze wafting from members as they walk off the floor.

I def saw more than 1 member of congress putting a few back on Penn earlier. Ran into 2 in the liquor store.

The point is that the Republicans spent the night boozing it up instead of working to resolve the situation as a government shutdown loomed.

Too funny! Where were the Democrats and what were they doing? They are part of congress last I checked.
"Resolve" the situation? You mean like Obama and the Senate rejecting every compromise the right brings up?

PROOF that the arrogant DEMOCRAP Senate leaders WANT A SHUTDOWN:

Senate leaders decided not to call the upper chamber back to Washington until 2 p.m. on Monday, 10 hours before the government will shut down if Congress and the president fail to reach an agreement on the short-term funding bill.

Funny that the golf course on a military base where he plays is still open while soldiers can't even buy their groceries there.
