There are plenty of people looking for work now days. And let's face it, mopping floors, emptying wastebaskets, and cleaning windows is not what one calls "skilled labor". For that matter, neither is wandering through a dark building with a flash light checking doors or monitoring security cameras from a locked room. Maybe you can partner with SL and he can start a rent a cop service.

Superb idea, and with what Obama has done to the economy & job market - this is a great opportunity for someone.

OK, we have unskilled laborers who can be easily replaced. We also have the union bosses telling these people to go on strike.
Will the union bosses go without paychecks too? Nope.
I'm curious about this totally ridiculous comment. You ask if WORKING union managers get paid, and insinuate the people NOT WORKING should get paid, too ??

Gee, more welfare, right ???

I see you're totally clueless, but replace 6k workers, who work nights, and get underpaid. Be sure and tell them, the job's longer than the 2 hours and 15 minutes YOU "lasted".

Let us ALL know your entire program.

Oddly, you're against the workers WHO DO THE WORK, getting a living wage... Of course, WE remember your 2 hours and 15 minutes at "real work"...FAILURE !!!
Sorry son, it's a man topic, you don't get respect, YOU NEVER EARNED !!!
So, you have some actual Crystal Sugar stories, because I heard many retired, some found other work, and the rest are "living" on that $10 spot you donated ! LMAOROTFU~!

Well, I don't mind stealin' bread
From the mouths of decadence -
But I can't feed on the powerless
When my cup's already over-filled....

Yeah...

But it's on the table, the fire's cookin';
And the farmin' babies of the slaves are workin'.
Blood is on the table and the mouths are chokin'...
But I'm goin' hungry.

I don't mind stealing bread
From the mouths of decadence;
But I can't feed on the powerless
When my cup's already over-filled....mmmhmm....

But it's on the table, the fire's cookin';
And the farmin' babies of the slaves are a'workin'.
And it's on the table, the mouths are chokin'...
But I'm goin' hungry.

I'm goin' hungry, yeah...

Tomorrow is the day for the vote.

Unskilled workers in a soft economy. Replacement workers waiting in the wings. Sounds like a recipe for disaster - for the union boys.

Say "NO!" to jobs.
Say "YES" to union bosses.

Let's see if this works out any better than American Crystal Sugar.

Are you saying being a janitor and/or a security guard is highly skilled labor?

Perhaps to you, but I would not make that statement.

Today is the big day for the vote.

I wonder if you have to have a green card to vote? And how many languages do you think the ballots will be printed in?

Good luck to the union members. For their sake, I do hope they vote down the strike.

Are you saying, they're currently being paid as well as highly skilled positions ??? Oddly, you simply hate the common American worker and anyone trying to better themselves...

It's actually pitiful.

We all need to have one or two "dark" experiences like that to make us well rounded people, don't we?
I thought I wanted to do "real man's work" once and went to work during my college years in a foundry, on the 3rd shift, doing a similar task - and I it because of the macho image, plus it paid about 17 cents an hour more than my job in the grocery business.
The first night was one of those steamy summer nights where it goes down to about 92 degrees, with 90% humidity. Inside the plant it had to be at least 120 degrees with the furnaces running.
I lasted until the first break, then said I was going out for a smoke & ran like hell to get away. I was too embarrassed to even go pick up my check for the 2 hours and 15 minutes I was on the payroll.
All I knew after that night was that I had a lot more respect for anyone that could handle a job like that than I did prior to that fateful evening.

RESPECT ??? REALLY ?????
