Thomas Jefferson said that no constitution should be in force for more than one generation. When he wrote constitution, he meant lawful document... Too bad, you try to define words to deny reality, troll.

Let us get you some more Jefferson quotes, Jumbo.

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.

It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.

No freeman shall be debarred the use of arms.

Never spend your money before you have earned it.

It is error alone which needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself.

Advertisements contain the only truths to be relied on in a newspaper.

One loves to possess arms, though they hope never to have occasion for them.

If we can but prevent the government from wasting the labours of the people, under the pretence of taking care of them, they must become happy.

Benjamin Franklin had a couple of good quotes too.

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.

The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself.

A few more Jefferson quotes for you Jumbo.

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”(Quoting Cesare Beccaria)

The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.

To take from one because it is thought that his own industry and that of his father’s has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association—the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.

I think myself that we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious.

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.

Someday you'll learn how to put thoughts together into sentences. First you'll have to learn to have thoughts though.

The US Constitution doesn't require a belief in the bible. The bible is a book of folk stories from the past that some Americans CHOOSE to believe in.

Most of you alleged Christians pick and choose what part of the bible you want to believe in.

For example, the bible says that human sperm is life, and that men who masturbate are guilty of murder. Would you like to go down that path?

The bible also says that rich people do not go to heaven. Do you believe that?

Plus the bible says to turn the other cheek, to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's (pay your taxes), don't eat pork, don't let people with only one testicle in churches and a whole host of ridiculous rules.

Most Democrats are FAR better Christians than Republicans. Many are not Christians. Some are atheist. Some are Hindu. Some are Muslim. Some follow native religions.

And they are ALL Americans - and far better Americans than you'll ever be.

Well, If it is a book of folk stories, as you say, then all the "rules" really don't mean anything, right? So what is your point. Your statement, Democrats are far better Christians than Republicans, what proof do you offer?

Democrats spend a lot more time working to make life better for the poor, the elderly and the handicapped, both individually and as a group.

I volunteer at a food shelf weekly and at a couple of other charities monthly, and the volunteers that come down into the inner city are almost exclusively Democrats, except between Thanksgiving and Christmas when Republicans seem to feel the need to put in a token appearance to massage their guilty consciences a bit.

Yeah, volunteering to help feed and clothe the poor is all hatred. Gotcha.

I'll bet you haven't got off your dead ass in years to actually work with the poor. Besides being a loser right wing extremist, that condemns you to hell according to Jesus.

Really? do you ask those who volunteer what party they belong to? And if you do, Why? WTF difference does it make, other than to make you feel good? If you have to brag about how good a person you are, then one has to wonder, are you volunteering to help the poor or to ease your conscience?? Your a fake and the good Lord sees right through Pharisees
