It's those damned Republicans that somehow got elected - they shut down money for infrastructure improvements.
That will get corrected next year. Chuck Wiger is a great guy to talk to about things like this - he's a great guy with a "git 'er done" attitude!
Only if it involves bikes.

Otherwise Chuck is worthless, of course unless you are a teacher he takes care of them.

I'll have a beer with you, little homosexual boy. You will be drinking it through a straw.

THIS has something to do with you Schmahl, who keeps posting to this dead topic because you think it is your personal playground.

Now go run along like a good little pest and harrass the watershed district people or something.

Jan just got a little inebreated at the Legion, she was partying after being reelected.

She meant no wrong and shouldn't have been cited. After all she does a lot for the city.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that NSP is overcharging for electric service?

its a fact NSP is charging more for electric service

they claim the higher charges are because they provide better service

in actually their service is no better than any other utility consider their charges when you are not living in the residence

they charge as much when you dont use the service as when you do use it

and dont attempt to complain to the public utility board because they have nothing to do with government operated utilties

government protects their own you know

Yes, I compared what NSP charges to what my niece is charged on her Xcel energy bill. It looks like NSP charges about 10 cents more per KW than Xcel charges their customers. And it is interesting that you mention that NSP charges the same whether you use the service or not. My summer and winter bills are almost identical, yet, my furnace is gas, not electric. I think everyone in NSP should take a close look at their electric bills, because I feel that NSP has been ripping me off for several years. How can my electric bill be 250.00 every month, when I am gone all day during the week (11-14 hours per weekday), and only have one light and a television on in the whole house. Nightlights in hallways and bathroom, so those lights ar ehardly ever used. Aside from normal appliances (stove, fridge, washer and gas dryer) consumption is very low. But, not on my bills. If others are seeing the same thing I am, I think NSP should be audited ad refund any money they overcharged consumers.

if you compare any of the charges you pay to nsp to what residents pay in other towns it is very disturbing

for example a comparison of nsp trash collection to maplewood prior to maplewoods inplementation of their monopoly one vendor trash pickup is revealing

in maplewood with like 10 different trash haulers it was way less expensive then the cost of the nsp monopoly trash pickup with one hauler same sized container

the fact that maplewood was far less expensive is a concern but the other factor is the cost of trash pickup in a monopoly system as opposed to a 10 different hauler system

consider the cost of picking up trash when the hauler is the only one in town

in a monopoly with one hauler their costs are much less than an environment with 10 different haulers that one hauler has much less labor costs, much less fuel, much less billing costs, much less spread out customer base for customer service

so nsp trash collection should with out a doubt be less expensive than it is by a lot...

consider the bulk item pickup that the city charges for every month of the year if you use it or not and all their fees are going up a lot we have never used the service but keep on paying

nsp charges way to much for everything it does and residents quality of life suffers so nsp employees can live like kings city manager lives in a big house outside of nsp in a wealthy suburb public utilities director lives in a big brick house at least in nsp the mayor lives in a big brick house and makes like $80,000 working for the socialist unelected met council even thou the met council runs the bus service the mayor drives a car to work with a bus line 1/2 a block from his house hypocrite

nsp residents suffer while government workers live like kings

gone are the days of public service now says the public serves the government

ps a friend living in nsp who is an electrical engineer is considering converting his house to 100% solar, wind powered and natural gas he says its not real expebsive with a payback of like 2 years

if he does that he will disconnect the nsp electric service and pay the city nothing for that

food for thought
