Arming TSA officers hits resistance on the Hill

Resistance is a good thing in this case. All these years and only one(which is admittedly too many)TSA agent is killed on the job, and they want to create and arm a whole new army of government jobs in the process. Typical union mentality. Also typical of the totalitarian mentality of this (and previous) administrations.

The last thing we need is a bunch of people, high on themselves because no one can refuse or argue with them, who barely have a GED, carrying guns in an airport. How long before one of them shoots a little old lady or a kid in a wheel chair?

Or someone takes his weapon while he gropes a passenger?

Or maybe one of them "goes postal", so to speak. Or chooses to draw their weapon on one of the "protected classes"? Imagine the lawsuit that would ensue.

Law abiding gun owners would never be stupid enough to enter an airport with a gun on their person. Only in an authorized container which would be checked immediately.

Amazing how quickly Topix deleted those posts so quickly. Good for them!

Actually, many "law abiding gun owners" get busted at the airport because the are so used to carrying that they forget they have a weapon with them. A recent example is Ted Nugent's wife.

I've never forgotten I have a weapon on me. And especially, in an airport where some TSA ape might get wind of it and start putting on the rubber gloves. Admittedly, I've never traveled via plane with my weapons. But I will concede that this does happen from time to time. In the case of a celebrity, I doubt very much it is accidental.:)

In their world, there is no such thing as bad publicity. Anything to try and stay relevant.
And how often do they get prosecuted for legal infractions like this.
