US scientists report big jump in heat-trapping CO2

Carbon dioxide levels rose by second highest rate; reaching global warming limits unlikely

WASHINGTON (AP)-- New federal figures show the amount of heat-trapping carbon dioxide in the air jumped dramatically in 2012, making it very unlikely that global warming can be limited to another 2 degrees. Many governments set a 2-degree increase as the upper limit.

Scientists say the rise in CO2 reflects the global economy revving up and burning more fossil fuels, especially in China.

U.S. government scientists report that carbon dioxide levels jumped by 2.67 parts per million for a total of just under 395 parts per million compared to 2011.

That's the second highest rise in carbon emissions since records started being kept in 1959. Only 1998 had a bigger increase.

"...says John Reilly, co-director of Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change..."

Gee, I wonder where they get their funding?

Oh, yeah. They get their mega-funding from scamming tax payers by getting feeral grants to publish studes that say "The sky is falling!"

Odd that well over 90 percent of climate researchers and meteorologists agree that global warming is taking place and this warming is partially caused by man.

But of course the uneducated anti science right wing extremists know better. It is a conspiracy theory.

And Elvis is still alive.

Unfortunately, because of a few bad "climate scientists" who were discovered to be faking docs and other fun, the credibility of all scientific research has come in to question. One bad apple can indeed spoil thing for the whole bunch.

Does that make the work of all the thousands of other studies invalid?

I certainly raises questions about their credibility as well. How many of those "thousands of studies" ( a questionable estimation at best) were designed to reach a specific outcome?
And as we all know, when it comes to "studies", they are all too often a compilation of other "studies" as opposed to real, reproducible results obtained by applying scientific method.

It is not over 90%. And of those that do say that, how many are funded based upon them saying global warming is an issue? Damned near every one.

If I am going to make more money and expand my job longevity by saying I believe in global warming, I sure would tempted to do so since I know that is the easiest way for me to get the big federal grant funding.

Is your brain capable of remembering back 3 years to April, 2010? That is the when the most devastating ecological disaster in the history of mankind started.

The Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill captured the headlines and TV screens for months following.

This had the potential to destroy all of civilization. We would never swim in the Gulf of Mexico again. Sure as hell would never eat fish from there again. And the coastal cities along the Gulf would become waste dumps for the toxins spewed by that oil well.

People would die. Children would be born with mental and physical deformities. Entire species of animals would become extinct.

Then Mother Nature stepped in and miraculously, she cleaned up the mess.

None of the dire predictions came true. We were back fishing the Gulf the very next year. It is still a haven for tourism.

The audacity of idiots like you who would rather make a disaster into a political event than address the issues is appalling. You and your ilk would rather sit on your ass and try to destroy others, than to fix problems.

Screw you and the bamboo bicycle you rode in on.
