New Emails Raise Serious Questions About Disgraced IRS Official: The Tea Party Issue Is "Very Dangerous"

Newly-released emails between disgraced Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner and her staff may contradict earlier claims that the agency’s harsh treatment of conservative groups was not politically motivated.

One email shows Lerner, then the director of the tax-exempt organizations division, advising her staff in February 2011 that a Tea Party matter is “very dangerous,” and is something “Counsel and [Lerner adviser] Judy Kindell need to be in on.”

Eric Holder, IRS officials coached tax-exempt black ministers on how to engage in political activity

Holder, then-IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman, and Peter Lorenzetti, a senior official in the scandal-plagued agency’s exempt organizations division, participated in a May 2012 training session for black ministers from the Conference of National Black Churches at the U.S. Capitol hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC). Holder spoke at the event.

“We’re going to, first of all, equip them with the information they need to know about what they can say and what they cannot say in the church that would violate their 501(c)(3) status with the IRS,” said then-CBC chairman Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a Democrat from Missouri.“In fact, we’re going to have the IRS administrator there. We’re going to have Attorney General Eric Holder there…the ACLU.”

Hard to understand WHY taxpayers no longer trust the IRS?

Small Business Owner Fights Back After IRS Seizes $35,000:
The IRS seized more than $35,000 from the bank account of Tarik (Terry) Dehko’s grocery store in Fraser, MI last January. According to court records, the IRS accused the small business owner of violating the law with the type of cash deposits he made into the store’s bank account. Despite the seizure and claims of wrongdoing, Dehko has never been charged with a crime.

The IRS did a full audit of Dehko’s books in April and found absolutely no violations or criminal activity. They never gave him a hearing or review, they simply showed up at his store one day and said they had seized the account. He does not understand how, in a free country, the government can seize his money without warning and without cause.

IRS paid out $132 billion in bogus tax credits over last decade - AND THEY COULD CARE LESS...

The IRS paid as much as $13.6 billion in bogus claims for the Earned Income Tax Credit last year, according to a report the agency’s internal auditor released Tuesday morning.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration said it warned the IRS in 2011 that it was making the erroneous payments, but two years later the agency hasn’t fixed the problem.

Over the last decade, the IRS could have paid out as much as $132.6 billion in improper payments.

“The IRS has made little improvement in reducing improper EITC payments as a whole since it has been required to report estimates of these payments to Congress,” the inspector general said.“The IRS acknowledges that further reductions in the EITC improper payment rate will be difficult to achieve.”

Harry Reid says system working "fine"

Currently, the IRS allows undocumented residents to collect the $1,000 credits for dependents not even living in the country. Watchdog reported that illegal immigrants received $4.2 billion from the tax agency in just one year.

“My bill (targets) billions of dollars in waste, fraud and abuse. Instead of hitting up taxpayers for even more taxes, Washington needs to go after these billions of dollars,” said U.S. Rep. Sam Johnson, R-Texas.

Though the GOP-controlled House has passed Johnson’s measure three times, Senate Majority Leader Reid, D-Nev., refuses to allow the bill to come up for a vote in his chamber.

Taking a page out of the IRS playbook, Wisconsin special prosecutor Francis Schmitz has figured out a way to push next year's election back towards the progressive side:

Americans learned in the IRS political targeting scandal that government enforcement power can be used to stifle political speech. Something similar may be unfolding in Wisconsin, where a special prosecutor is targeting conservative groups that participated in the battle over Governor Scott Walker's union reforms.

In recent weeks, special prosecutor Francis Schmitz has hit dozens of conservative groups with subpoenas demanding documents related to the 2011 and 2012 campaigns to recall Governor Walker and state legislative leaders.

Copies of two subpoenas we've seen demand "all memoranda, email ... correspondence, and communications" both internally and between the subpoena target and some 29 conservative groups, including Wisconsin and national nonprofits, political vendors and party committees. The groups include the League of American Voters, Wisconsin Family Action, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, Americans for Prosperity—Wisconsin, American Crossroads, the Republican Governors Association, Friends of Scott Walker and the Republican Party of Wisconsin.

NO change in the OBAMA administration:

The House’s chief investigator says the FBI is stonewalling his inquiry into whether the agency and the Internal Revenue Service targeted conservative group True the Vote for special scrutiny, and Rep. Darrell E. Issa is now threatening subpoenas to pry loose the information from FBI Director James B. Comey Jr.

I thought that this NEVER happened?

New IRS chief apologizes to targeted conservative groups after House hearing ( 2-5-14)

The new head of the IRS has apologized to those who suffered because of the agency’s targeting of conservative groups, after he testified before a House subcommittee for the first time.

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told reporters after the hearing before the House Ways and Means Committee that the singling out of such organizations for special scrutiny would be “intolerable,” and vowed the IRS is not doing so now.

“It won't happen going forward,” Koskinen said.“And to the extent that people suffered accordingly, I apologize for that.”

Don't hold your breath. As I've mentioned before, the blind devotion to Obama is truly frightening. To the point where he would be forgiven by his followers for nuking the last of the aboriginal tribes left in Central America. His devoted followers would find a way to rationalize this away in a heartbeat. And Redeemer is, indeed, one of those blind followers.

Yeah, that fills the bill. They should have tossed in a white Berkley professor, a couple senators, and an anti gun activist just for variety.

It was "very well possible" that the IRS's targeting and harassment of conservatives and Tea Party groups impacted the 2012 presidential election between President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney.

This is the type of people the IRS likes to have in their fold:

The Internal Revenue Service, already facing accusations that its workers improperly snooped through tax files, has hired a former police officer Mohammad Weiss Rasool - CONVICTED just a few years ago of illegally accessing FBI records and providing information to a subject of a counterterrorism investigation involving an infamous al Qaeda figure.

Mr. Rasool serves as a financial management analyst — three rungs away from the highest-level career position — working audit-related issues and matters.
