Full story: TwinCities.com

A little more than five years ago, the Minnesota Twins held a public memorial service for Kirby Puckett at the Metrodome.

Two rings? So Gene Larkin, Al Newman, etc. are better than Killer?

I would argue Kirby was the greatest Twin, but a lot of things related to rings are out of the individual's control. It's a tight race (and not particularly important either) to determine who's the greatest.

This is not the time or place, Not True. Kirby was a fine ball player and a joyful presence. But Harmon had a goodness at his core that shone through in any situation. There are few people of whom you can say, "He was a good man," and have it be more than a platitude. But Harmon embodied "Goodness" in a way that gave it special meaning. I feel lucky to have seen him play and to have been around during those formative years of the Twins.

Anyone who claims Puckett was the best Twin ever obviously never saw the players before him. He was a very good player, no doubt, and had a great personality. He represented the Twins well, but it's too bad he was who he was off the field, or you might have an argument.

As a player as well as a human being, there are none who compare to Harmon - the most approachable, humble, gentle giant who retired at #3 on the all time list with 573 home runs. Only Willie Mays and Babe Ruth hit more than Harmon at that time.

Rest in peace Killer.

Get a photo of just Harmon. Why soil his spotless memory by pairing him up with Puckett?
Because he is white? You know Harmon was divorce and had a tuff financial dealings do you? He is no angel along with Puckett, but they both are human beings and one is not above the other just because they are black or white.

Two great players side by side in heaven. Cast your stones but I will always be a Puckett fan and if you don't believe me go watch those two world series game again.....can't say much about the other professional sports.

Puckett was the leader of two world championship teams. As leader of those teams, he is the greatest Twin. End of story.

Great stuff shooter. I grew up a few blocks from where the Killer and Jim Perry lived in Edina. We used to ride our bikes to their houses and get the autographs.Harmon always came to the door and signed whatever we had.. He was really a nice man..

As far as who was the best or face of the Twins... Differeent times folks, there can be more than one face!

Minnesota Fans lost a true champion and Legend. For those of us born before 1968, Harmon was the Twins and will always be the Twins. To argue whether it was Harmon or Kirby is silly. They were both great Minnesota Twins that brought us great pride. They have both left us far too early.

It is incumbant of this current group of Twins to turn things around and bring a sense of respectability back to Target Field.

Rest in Peace Harmon. We will always love you and carry a piece of you with us!
