I didn't know Culpepper had skyscrapers that would topple to the ground crushing millions of people. Did someone just watch the movie Earthquake?

i live in louisa county off shannon hill and my house was horribly wrecked. Everything breakable broke, the house shifted on the foundation, and the chimney broke of and came through the roof halfway into the kitchen. its uninhabitable. I hate how the media is reporting no major damage when i just lost my home.
what is worse is being out of the country unable to do anything. Im on the first flight home tho.
I agree. Seems like they were more worried about Culpeper which is even farther away than Charlottesville. I know they got shaken and its good to take precautions, but I admit I was bit like...huh? Some plces that are closer seem a bit less rattled.

I am sorry about your home. A 5.9 is nothing to sneeze at. Glad you are OK. I hope they show more on the people of Louisa.

Lots of people have relatives in cities other than Washington, D.C., as do I. We would like to hear about their towns. What about Culpeper? Thanks for any info.

Trust me I am in Louisa 5 miles from Mineral and it shook my house to the point I thought it was coming down on my head. everything in cabinets were shaken out on to floor and broke. all pictures on walls and even stuff inside my shower stall was down in the tub. My fish tank was rocking like a boat on wakes on lake anna. I have cracked bricks on my residence and severe cracks on a new chimney I just put on my shop area. This was no laughing matter. But was bad is some of the belongings I had of dead sister was broken and its bothered me really bad. My child would not sleep by hisself last night and he is 11 years old. These kids were tramitized. I am glad that they put off school for a while they need to recover a little bit.
