My daughters live in Charlottesville, and Louisa. When I saw this on line I called, except for pictures, glass, etc they're fine. Some of my friends who work in Cleveland Ohio felt it as a very large tremor.

Maybe these or what we're calling aftershocks are precursors to the big one?

i live in louisa county off shannon hill and my house was horribly wrecked. Everything breakable broke, the house shifted on the foundation, and the chimney broke of and came through the roof halfway into the kitchen. its uninhabitable. I hate how the media is reporting no major damage when i just lost my home.

i hate it for you. i live in ferncliff had no damage, but my neighbor had some pretty significant damage. what chaps my tail is that all you saw or heard when you turned the news on is how NYC, DC and other places felt a little rumble and had to be evacuated. We got rocked, but NYC felt a small shake and that is big news...forget about little ol Virginia....

Anyone that had damages or anything of the such....my thoughts and prayers are with you!!!!

And your spelling class must have been 'closed'- schools will be 'closed'- not 'close'.

Our prayers and thoughts are with our neighbors across the mountains! Please know that we are thinking about you!
I am sort of tired of the snide comments from the west coast. They experience earthquakes quite frequently and they expect some degree of compassion from us. Now that we've had to experience a shaking of the Earth, we expect some kindness from them!

My husband and I was at lake Anna fishing when the earth quake happen, fist the rumbling like a large engine of some sort then the water started to look like it was boiling bubbles everywhere then the ground shook never had I experienced anything like this before and hope this is it not a good feeling a all but it was a unique experience indeed.

My husband and I live in the Ferncliff area of Louisa County and our walls are cracked, pictures off the walls, dishes broken in china cabinet. The garage has cracks in the cement. That after shock around 8 was scary!

Fact: Because of the geology here on the East Coast earthquakes of the same magnitude are felt 10X stronger than on the West coast.

The wierdies on the left coast think it's no big deal and have no sympathy, well pee on them! It'll be nice when the BIG ONE hits and they fall off into the pacific.
