I am thinking of opening a restaurant in Blairsville. I have some ideas, but was hoping for input from the community. What kinds of food would you like to have served? I need your input.

No pizza, no fried chicken, no subs,no Mexican, no meat & three. All of these are over represented.
How about a reasonably priced seafood place?

We do have enough. What we need in Blairsville is more activities for young people. The senior's have too much to do and the young people have nothing to do. The skate park was good to keep the emo's from skating all over the map of Blairsville but it did not cater to the higher percentage of young people. The ballfields and Meeks Park is nice but it would be nice to have more for the young people. Open up the old movie theater, a real skating rink in town with operating hours that are open to all, the old teen dance worked before and could work again. Any thing would be better than another place to eat, get hair cuts, buy real estate, grocery stores or banks. We are covered up with all those is the reason that those are starving to death right now and the ones we have are having a hard time making it. If you can't get the areas that are lacking here, at least benefit yourself with practical income. The medical profession and lawyers are always a need.
Best Regards

Smaller romantic place open limited nights with low overhead and limited menu but high quality. Prices can be high but it has to be like the Murphy Chop House or Cuchina Rustica level. You may make a small living but never rich.

Everything else is over represented by tons. More now with this economy than ever before. For any restaurant other than above described it needs to cater to locals as well as Floridas. Just a fact of the restaurant scene here. The locals do not want quality products and not enough halfbacks to sustain a place locals skip.
The only other place I could see working is a steak and spuds place. Very big inexpensive cuts of meat with piles of low cost sides. That would appeal to everyone in town. I would say not to open anything if you asked me. I do not want to say who I am but I am not just another random poster when it comes to this subject. In the last 20 years I have lived here I have seen too many others fail by not pitching to locals.

I tried to caution "foodie" here before she took over blairsville rest and she ignored everything I said. She failed quick and lost alot.

A good up scale place that serves food that isn't alway's fried. Fatz isn't that type of place contrary to what many think. But unfortunatly till alcohol is passed in union county not worth doing right now. To many here a Wendys salad is going out to dinner

dont be silly. of course its good to eat something healthy, but if this person is wanting to know what will make money here, it definitely is not a vegetarian restaurant. not eating any meat cant be good for you. vegetarians always look malnourished.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Taurus

Someone gets in a bit of a muddle today and it could take some unravelling. For instance, they might get their wires crossed, leading to all sorts of misunderstandings. You might also encounter someone who is trying to rewrite history, perhaps because they can't bear to remember things as they really were. Should you set them straight or leave well alone?
