Nassau, NY red light cameras to cost extra

They'll Pay for Themselves !

The Clueless Drivers who run Red Lights will be the ones tapped to pay for them. What's NOT TO LOVE about That ?

Long Island has no shortage of stupid, dangerous, and barely capable drivers. This is a toll we need to 'Educate' them, and it cost us nothing. We should order another 100 camera's and put them everywhere. How about at STOP signs so we can bag the people who fail to stop when they are instructed to by a BIG RED SIGN ?

If not set up properly, they'll just be a waste of money.

After installing the cameras, they have to remember to shorten the break time between yellow and red from 4-seconds to 2. That way they'll catch a lot more people running those lights that break on them with not enough distance to stop and instead, they go through.

They'll also need to issue a special tag, probably a small, wallet-sized portrait of the driver of the vehicle that gets affixed to the plate before they begin their journey. That way when Junior borrows the family car to go to University and runs one of those lights, he gets the ticket and not Daddy.

I also wonder how much it's gonna cost to provide staff to chase down those who fail to respond to the ticket. To ensure that they can't say they never received it (you know how the mail can work sometimes), they'll have to send it 'signature required', an additional cost.

Then there is also the consideration of those who have failed to respond and who's license has been suspended - now they're riding around on a suspended license. If they didn't care enough to respond to the ticket, why should they care that they're driving around on a suspended license?

Sounds like, in the end, the whole idea will turn out to be cost prohibitive and be just another worthless, incompetently run, government idea that's turned to $h!t and destined to be abandoned or scrapped once they figure it out.

Ed.. They suk !!! Eventually you will have Stop Sign Cameras, and Duck Sht Cameras in the foreseeable future.... We can't do this to the Ducks... We can't !!

Since when is FINING Incompetent UnSAFE Drivers who Break the LAW a RIGHT ? Running RED LIGHTS has KILLED People, Innocent People.

You Repugs sure do love the Crooks and Thieves, we all have enough Proof of that, But Running Red Lights and Killing People by your Lousy driving, will never be your right.

Vehicle & Traffic Laws exist to protect everyone. When anyone violates those laws, they put everyone in Danger. The possible ways to identify, and remove these Dangerous law breakers from our highways need to be INCREASED.

The way to better Politicians, is to support them when they do something Really useful, Really Necessary, and Really Smart, Like More Red Light Cameras.

I'm hoping they figure out that Vehicle and Traffic law enforcement cries out for privatization. Then we can use pilotless drones to photo-record law breakers everywhere, and rid the roads of unsafe drivers that put our families in peril.

Where are all you Gun Nuts who want to 'Mow Down' every law breaker who holds up the Quickie Mart, or Breaks into your garage ? Which laws are OK to break ? When is being a criminal Acceptable by you Gun Nuts ?

First of all God is spirit, and in God, the Holy trinity only Jesus is also a man.

He (GOD) doesn't attack us, he is Only Good. The Other guy, the father of all lies, he does things like cause death and destruction.

And since I have a nice personal and ongoing daily conversation with God, I'm not worried about anything. If you have God on your side, who else do you need ? You might give it a try. I highly recommend it.

Be honest with you Ed... Running a red light of a total blow through a stop sign is 100 times worse than 3 or 4 beers and knowing you can drive, just like many of the politicians. police and who-ever the ect's are .... The'll get a couple of those and probably more just trying to glide through the light with traffic.... You ever see in a snow or rain storm the logical thing to do is move and keep moving... The system suks Ed !!
