With his skill in survival....if he is alive.
perhaps he does not want to be found. He is eccentric - tired ....why not live out his life...the rest of it where he wants....and how he wants. What are the chances of this man having a place to go ....in the wilderness

FYI - Flight plans are not required in the US unless you are flying IFR (under instruments) in the National Airspace System. VFR (visual flight rules) flight plans are recommended if a pilot is flying on a long cross country and/or over rough terrain, but not required. Most pilots who fly on short, local trips do not file a flight plan if they intend to make the trip under VFR. I certainly don't. And I usually don't speak to ATC or request radar services unless I am flying in airspace that requires it or I am flying over hostile terrain. Steve knew what he was doing. He just got unlucky.

Wow, if one of my kids ever gets lost, I hope he's a world famous multi millionaire.
There's thousands of missing people in the US, but this guy gets no expense spared top priority?
HUNDREDS of missing children at this moment and we're spending hundreds of thousands of dollars a day to look for this guy who couldn't be bothered to file a simple flight plan?
And who is paying for all this exactly? You and I.

I did a search on the net of "Bellanca Citabria Super Decathlon" that Steve was in. I found some disturbing info on the wing spars with this model. It said they were subject to compression cracks and hard to see.. Anybody else hear this?
