This was my first Black Tie event, and it was great. I didn’t really know what to expect but everything about it was wonderful. There was a point at which the room got pretty warm but opening the windows helped a lot with that. The room itself (although clearly not yet completed) screamed with potential. I totally look forward to seeing it operating in full swing. Once that happens I can’t imagine anything going on in the Buffalo Bar anymore other than the stench and the drunks that normally inhabit that place. The Murray stands to really improve Silver City and the people behind it very much deserve our appreciation for that. One thing that really surprised me was the number of dancers that showed up. I had no idea Silver City is home to that much energy on a dance floor. Of course the band was just excellent which always helps.

It has historical potential, it has potential for housing units in downtown Silver City(there will be both apartments and hotel rooms available); which would be great for local business owners or college students. Tt will employ people to run, maintain, and renovate the hotel. It will also give competition to other historical hotels in Silver City; ultimately lowering the prices.
All in all, it's a win for Silver City.

No apartments will be available. Tiny little hotel rooms, suitable for one nite stays. The hotel is 5yrs into renovations and those people are from out of town. It will do business during the Blues Fest and the Bike Race

Silver City continues to attract business people with a vision for a busy downtown, and a willingness to invest in their vision. That's a great thing.

They should change the name to "Blue Balls Ball" because that's what happened to me there. All the ladies were looking super sexy and flirting away all night as they downed their drinks. But when it came time to action, all of them crapped out on me despite me having bought over $800 worth of booze. It's a rip off if you ask me and merely a scam to take advantage of kind hearted, generous men like myself.

Let's not forget that the Branding Room, located in the Murray Hotel, was also full of stench and drunks, and the drunks were all bussinessmen, city officials, and rich ranchers. Real Class!!!!!!!!!

47 years ago I worked at the front desk and same kind of customers were there in the Branding Room. They staggered out and never got a DUI. I wonder why????
