This bizarre claim coming from Muhammad should not be taken literally.

Here, on this thread, we have fools devoting pages to discussing this trivial point and failing to arrive at a sound conclusion.

If there's any substance to the claim that Jews were transformed into apes, it would only allude to a regression in consciousness in certain Jews, who, on account of their perverse karma, were regressed in consciousness from the human to the animal level in states of existence after death or in future births.

From a yogic perspective, this devolution in consciousness is possible though a rare happening.

MORE ON DEFEATING DEATH:

1) Matter, as it is constituted at this juncture of the evolution of the involved ranges of consciousness-energy, is unregenerate and not plastic and progressive enough to absorb and withstand/overcome the deteriorating effects of wear and tear in the body. 4) The supramental is a radical grade of consciousness-energy that not only neutralizes the adverse effects of friction but it also infuses the being with a high gnostic degree of consciousness-energy that opens up and transforms the being/body in radical ways....
