"Numbers say U.S Border is safer"

Well then, the 'Numbers' needs to live here. In fact, the 'Numbers' and the idiots manipulating the statistics to where the statistics bear no similarity to reality, can take the place of the ICE agent that was just shot.

Ed Willis was the Customs Agent incharge of Anelope Wells for 20 years. He wasn't related to Bob in Cruces. I knew of Barney, My father knew him better as he was a car dealer.
And I'm not trying to start anything here because although I may not always agree with you I respect the fact that your opinions are well researched. I love your bouts with CN, I have had a feww also. But the reason I asked about Ed was, a few days ago you were talking about some ranchers in AZ and I asked about them because I had never heard of them. You were very condescending and implied that I must not have been from the area or else I would have known who they were. So my point with Ed is that if you have a ranch in Hidalgo on the border, I would think you would know the Agent in charge of the only crossing there. But you didn't know him and thats ok it doesn't mean you don't have a ranch there. Get my drift?

I remember the post. I was not trying to be condescending. Sorry. The Klumps are famous in the area and I thought you were talking about Wilcox.

Sometimes these forums are a full contact thing. I have toruble tuning it "on" and "off" at will. If I offended you I apologize. You certainly did not say anything that would warrant any scuffing up.

Yes, Barney was an old timer and he sold a few cars too. I was born in Deming according to my birth certificate and lived there a few years when I was young.

My father was a BP agent as well as a law officer in Hidalgo way back. I am sure tht he knew Mr. Willis...probaly worked for him back in the day.

Again, I hope you didnt take too much offense. I certainly didnt intent to do that.

Sorry, this is off topic.

Getting shot & killed is a common industrial hazard of law enforcement.

Obama presented his birth certificate already, he's now the president of the USA. It's people like you who want to believe he's not a citizen of the USA.

So JBB I have seen a few of your posts and I get a kick out of them. You seem to have some common sense and that is a rare commodity around here.

I owe you one. I re read my post and I was being a bitch. And your posts have an edge as well. I look forward to conversations in the future and fully expect you to collect on that debt.

Is the border safer now than it was in 1986 when Washington told us that if we grant amnesty to 3 million criminals that were residing in the U.S. illegally the borders would be secured? The fact that the government estimates that 300,000 criminals snuck across the border last year alone does not sound like a secure or safe border.

No one has said the border is secure or safe. It is chaos.

The article and the discussion is that the border is safer than it was a short time ago and we are making progress. A pile of statistics bear that out.

Can you offer any evidence at all that the border efforts have not been successful in the past couple of years?
