"The government of Mexico does not present a problem to you," said Jimena Cortes Morales. "Ninety-nine percent of the people who cross are not a danger to you. It doesn't make the United States any less safe." I beg to differ anyone can be carrying a dangerous substance of any kind , are we to wait and see who has what to attack us ? Or are we looking to see another version of 9/11 ???

Hummmm, Remember the "Mafia" accountant? When he was ask, "Well, what is the bottom line number?"....his reply, "What do you want it to be?"......That's our Government. They would not lie to YOU would they?

As a person who lives close to the Southern Border, BULLSHIT!!!!! Ask anybody who lives in my area and they, like me, would disagree.

when will our federal agents and law enforcement start enforcing the law?

every day thousands of vehicles are allowed into the US... Yet no law enforcement agency is checking to see if the vehicle has vehicle insurance...a law im most states...

Way to go law enforcement...isn't selcetive enforcement GREAT?

Murders in a certain cesspool of a city in the Northeast went from 100 per year to a mere 98 per year. Clearly this is one cesspool that is now safer. Numbers don't lie.

It is safer, but the criminals and the drugs can still get through relatively easy. What most people fail to realize is that most illegal immigrants came here legally through a visa; they overstayed their visit. The border is still open and until something catastrophic happens , will remain open.

Two people in this vast NM border area reporting their "feelings" about how safe they feel. I don't discount them, but they are surely not to be considered a total representation of how the rest of us "feel". Why not sample a 50, 100, or 500 person representation and then do the sampling again the day after news of another beheading, murder, kidnap takes place just across our border. I respect the Border Patrol personnel. I can't help but feel that they feel their hands are being tied from true enforcement by Napolitano and her crew way back in Washington. I live out here near the border and I DO NOT FEEL SAFE!

I remember, as a kid, playing and exploring the desert north of Deming where my grandparents lived. The only thing I knew to worry about was snakes. That was 40 years ago. If I'm out any where now I'm armed and not because of snakes. If anyone tells you any of the border states are safer now they are lying. They used to be, but not now, not anymore.

Yeah, right? The borders are probably safer because the 20 million scum trash illegals are already in our interior. Our babies, women, farm animals aren't safe anywhere now.

Where's the report on that?

Any fool knows not to f**ck with snakes in the desert. Illegals are hardly any different. They are either desperate decent people running from a terrible situation, or they are criminal drug runners. In either case, leave them be and they'll cross your property and gone before you know it. Why bring bad things on yourself by waving a gun if you don't need to? Especially property that can be replaced.

How many got away? That is the real question.

Tracking them to the highways, where illegals disappeared north in a vehicle happens how often?

BORDER WARS on TV cable has shown serious problems along the Rio Grande River in SW Texas and in the area along the Border near Nogales, AZ.

You are right they are safer from the minutemen and armed farmers.
You were talking about the illegals being safer weren't you?
It is such a shame that the gov. can not or will not protect us and wont let us protect our selves.
It is time for all of the citizens who believe in the enforcement of the law and the concept of self defence to stand up.
It is time to send emails and phone calls in support of the farmer who just protected his family and property.
