The Mayan Apocalypse didn't materialize and the nation didn't fall off the "fiscal cliff" . But as 2012 melted into 2013, many folks in Silver City felt as though the apocalypse was in fact now.

It seems like other NM small towns and cities are also going through the exact same thing. And probably all over the USA. Everyone is trying to improve their towns images and mainstreets.
