Silver, Las Cruces part of tourism push

Yeah, come down from Colorado to visit Las Cruces in the summer! Bet that's going to be a real successful promotion.

At least they didn't include Truth or Consequences and try to play down the hot springs being contaminated.

Tourism to Silver City? To be treated like crap by obnoxious elitist hippy leftovers in their Bullard St. enclave?
Silver City should not be promoted; there should be warnings posted.

Cross under the arch in Silver City that welcomes you to the empty businesses and meth users laying in the streets. Hear the sirens roar evey two minutes as police chase speeders for doing 2 MPH over the limit, while motorcycles roar up and down main street endangering those who cross the street. See the "pharisees" of Silver City sitting in their chairs out in the sidewalk and hear them make nasty comments as you walk by them. Check out lovely Penny Park that is nothing but a burnt out hulk thanks to residents love of fires. Buy gasoline at the highest price in the state. And enjoy the fine dining at McDonalds, Sonic, Wendys, and Burger King. There's nothing like it anywhere in the state....thank goodness.

I think it is a wonderful idea. They should make a commercial with Bill Richardson in the Gila and in the background the howl of the majestic Mexican Grey Wolf.He could talk about the program and commend USFWS on what a successful job they have done. There could be a shot of a mother wolf with her pups gathered round for a feeding. It would be a page out of the Walt Disney Library,a la Bambi. Then at the end ,Bill,USFWS,the Sierra Club, and the Center for Biodiversity could all be gathered around the campfire, drinking wine and eating cheese, while singing Kumbaya, and a guitar and a pack of wolves keeping tune in the background.I'm positive tourists from Phoenix,Santa Fe,Albuquerque, and El Paso would get into their automobiles and speed down to Silver City to chime in.Imagination can lead men astray at times.

Put up ads for the counterculture.. Come to Sliver City where you can indulge all your fake-progressive elitism, nose in air, hipper than thou, in an environment where "non-profits" suck up tax-funded grants to have committees who meet with each other (they call it "partnering") to have workshops on how to make iced tea which the same 15 faded hippies attend... Yes, Sliver City has the $6 bread ($4 for the same bread elsewhere than the "Coop"), the $3 coffee, everything that brings countercultural utopia into focus.
Yes, did Santa Cruz get too expensive for you? Come to Sliver City where you can step over the same druggies, rub elbows with the same pseudo-hip elitists, accomplish NOTHING for any real cause, but make a career out of feathering your own pretentious imitation-Deadhead lifestyle nest...
Sliver City needs MORE fake progressive posers! The town needs to be even MORE useless!
