Sounds like a great idea. Let's just kill everybody and have a war in our own nation. Perhaps the problem is not that this man needs to be shot perhaps he did not get the proper treatment that he needed while in prison or on parole. Budgets are being cut and vital programs such as this are also being cut. History proves that rehabilitation and restoration are the best ways to deal with this issue. Further arming ourselves only adds to the chaos. It figures something like this would come from a former Marine. If you want to kill and destroy why don't you go back in the Marines and go to war again. We have started plenty in the country. I'm sure there will be one somewhere that you can fight.

What history shows that? Maybe he is just a rapist who has not committed enough crimes. Get real. Throwing money at some pin head who has proven many times he is not worthy of walking the street is ignorant. What wrote: Sounds like a great idea. When the 'war' does evolve within our country, people who think along your lines, will have done all they could to help get it started.

For starters there is no such thing as a former Marine, never has and never will. I challenge you to produce evidence to your claim that these people can all be rehabilitated. I know that such evidence does not exist but I'll give you a chance to produce something. Arming ourselves is the responsibility of every American citizen.

It's too bad there's not a set of rules/regs, depending on the offense, that judges could refer to and go by. After all, judges preside and oversee the courtroom pretty much, they also hand down sentences and way too many of them are "hand slappers" anymore, not strict enough and don't give the criminal the punishment they truly deserve at times. Too many judges think it's safe to release certain offenders time after time, so what do these offenders have to fear? Maybe we should do what some other countries do......cut their fingers/hands off for stealing, or something worse for the horrific crime they commit, seems laws are much tougher in some other countries and wonder if they don't have near the criminal activities and crimes as we may have here.

It's almost like some judges make up their own and go by that. Sort of got to be a joke around here with how they let these offenders off with a slap on the wrist many times over. Repeat offenders get to me more than anything, wonder if there's a set of rules/regs for those people ? First time one breaks probation it's jail for a year, it sure would give them second thoughts about goofing up.

There lies the paradox. It's up to them to assess the crime and punishment as they deem fitting for the crime. There is a wide variance in sentences due to circumstances surrounding the case.
