I've heard my dad and uncles talk about a boxing gym in Milton. He said there was one on Main Street and the one behind the football field. Anybody know where they were at? I wish there was a place to practice boxing in Milton now, that would be awesome. Me and my friends all play boxing at my house.

The gym moved from place to place over the yrs
It was in an old barn that sit out of town by the carwash and the music store. It was under the old bank on the corner of pike and main.It was at the back of the old taxi station that is now called pams on rt 60.
And the last place was on orchard st behind the football field about half way up the st on the side the stadiums on. Want to learn fighting than talk to the Sargent brothers, Rod and Johnny. Rod works at hurricane high and shows some of the athletes how to scrap. Johnny drives a school bus up there to.

Jack and Darrel Sargent. Used to be the boxing sargents.Jack also coached boxing. It was said that he once took 7 fighters to an ohio tournament and came back with 6 champions. The only reason he didnt win all 7 was because both Roger Johnsons had to fight each other. The blonde haired one beat the black haired one. He also ran the ole kando pub.

the red hand prints on the tomb in Milton cemetery is there because we thought it would be funny. Boy, we didn't realize it would peak so much interest at the time. It was just funny one Halloween night when we were allowed to go "trick or treat"ing by ourselves. Over the years, sure it doesn't look like paint any more and maybe more like "blood". But when we first did it, as pre-teens, we really thought it looked sooo real. It didn't. It really didn't. It was legitimately red high-gloss latex paint that we "borrowed" from my grandpa's garage. That tomb wasn't the only thing that we hand-printed that night either... streets, rocks, trees. No one seemed to notice anything but the tomb though. So, almost 30 years later it's still the talk of the town.

Jocko's older brother Ronald. He was also called Jocko after their father. He was bad about drinking. He could get drunk on a six pack because of being an alcoholic and would stagger down the street falling, yet would work on putting reflective glass and mirrors in high rise office buildings in Charleston and Huntingtin without ever an accident or falling to his death. He was killed by Radar Red the deputy while lumping trucks at the exit by Go Mart when he jumped down off the running board of a semi that he had flagged down asking for a job of unloading the guys truck. This was the 2nd person that Radar Red had hit and killed.

He's still around now. But from the time his house burnt and he lost his dad as a young kid. I seen him change into the protecter of his younger sis that was also burnt. He was Fighting teenagers at the age of 8 and getting beat down every day. By the age of 12 therr wasnt many 18 year olds that wanted to chance the embarrassment of losing a fight to a kid. At 16 I watched him win a fight against 3 grown men. I know he never started any fight but finished over a hundred and always took up for the lil guy and picked back at the bullys. TimboG/Adolf
