Piggly Wiggly are all privately owned stores. Maybe they are just changing from being a 'Foodland'....like they used to be 'Faschek'...

Well, being as there are no PW's in WV, I'd have to call BS on that rumor...

Actually they are changing their name. Right now they get their supplies from super valu, they found it is cheaper to get two truckloads from a place in NC . So they're changing the name to Piggly Wiggly.

Whatever they decide to do, I hope it will result in a better, fresher produce section. There's really no excuse for having such a poor selection of fruits & vegetables. I'm not saying the variety is sorely lacking (which it kind of is), just saying they need to pull the stuff that's wilting & beginning to rot from being displayed. It really diminishes the whole store.

I happened to be in the Barboursville area about a month or so ago. Drove to the Red Box at Food Fair to pick up a movie and ran in to grab a few movie snacks. Now there's a place that showcases what an independent grocery store has the potential to be! I hope that when Foodland makes the switch, it comes with a sorely needed renovation. It's pretty sad when one can say that Sav A Lot is the nicest, cleanest grocery store town.

Foodland is better than food king in Winfield. Talk about rotten food. Stay away from the meat section. I was there last week going to get dinner and in the meat section there were steaks that was brownish green and had things growing from it. I told them I was never coming back there. Grosssssssss

And you just come here to start sh*t and talk trash. I'd say that makes us about even. If everything is so wonderful and great in Milton, then why did you move to Ohio?

I hope the change will result in cheaper food prices. The store is clean most of the time but the produce section does need some work. The produce manager wont even look at you when you ask him a question. The Johnson's do a great job for the community but they need to work on the cashier's and the language they use in front of us customers. Adam and the other manager with salt and pepper hair are the most helpful and they are always customer friendly. I believe those two are really good looking and that makes it even better to shop there. Hope my husband doesn't see this. I hope they do make some changes and find some more customer friendly workers or have a talk to with their workers before it hurts the store and they keep losing customers. Just my thoughts and I don't want to make anyone mad but this is how I feel.

There is a cashier that is a little mentally slow. I can't make myself go through her line she talks so stupid I had a bottle of perfume sticking out of my purse and she said what's that in your purse I said perfume she said I need to scan that man I was mad didn't go back for over a month anyway I said it's from bath and body works I've already paid for it she calmly stated oh I thought it was ours what keep you eyes outa my purse idiot !!! Man she's weird !!!!!

That cashier should be part of the change along with some changes in the produce, deli/bakery and the cashiers. I don't think Steve and Marty are aware of all that goes on with the cashiers and other areas of the store. I do like shopping there but I have went in and left when certain people was working in the deli or certain cashiers. I don't go buy any dairy products because I don't want to feel like I'm being molested by the guy that works that area. I get my dairy products from sav-a-lot. Please make a few changes. I will continue to shop there but I'm always looking to see who's working when I enter the store.
