This is a dumbass idea, what about parents that work, they have vacations setup for them and there family's over summer break, now because of this dumbass idea parents and kids may not be able to go on vacation, my family has been goin the same week for the past 20 yrs and this idea screws it all up

Bad idea, this is all we need put our children in the hands of people that are already teaching them we come from apes, its ok to be homosexual, and there is no God.The only time children have a chance to just be a kid is over summer break,This idea will take away vacations, summer camps, church camps, family reunions and anything your family does over the summer break.
This is small group of people pushing this idea and i hope people come out strong against this idea for our family's sake, and what makes the school board think they have the rite to make a decision that will effect so many family's this should be on a ballet for a county vote not left in the hands of board members.so every one make the phones at the board office ring let them know we are not going to stand for this they can all be removed. Lets not forget we now have a spring break in march when its freezing cold and no one can do anything all because we did not speak up and left it in the hands of our school system.

I think it is a great idea. It spreads out you daycare expense so that you don't go broke over the summer. It allows families to go on vacation off season and cheaper, and most importantly not a huge break so that kids can remember what they learned. I wish they had done it years ago.

I think with the United States being behind the rest of the world in education that it couldn't hurt. And for the person complaining about vacation im sure its far more important for your family to go to beach fork than to get an edumacation lol idiot

I think it's a terrible idea. As a kid would you rather be off school when it's hot and sunny outside with all sorts of things to go do with your friends and family? Or be off school when it's cold and nothing to do? If they decide to put in year round school they will be going to school part of the summer. Who wants to go to school in the summer?

Obviously your not the smartest person or you would have realized Kentucky and many other states have tried this and every place has converted back to their original school schedule.

Im not for or against it I was simply saying that the united states is far behind other countries in academics and it couldnt hurt.Im sure that your far more superior to me in intelligence lol and if you went to college or are going to college it was or will be based or your high academic standards you've obviously set for yourself.

I forgot that not stating every fact for you about other states like Kentucky makes me inferior to Milton Wrestling in intelligence and for that i am deeply sorry. Before I make other posts I will have every known fact about it for you sir therefore lessening any confusion as to how stupid I am compared to you being the obvious intellectual that you are.

The only people that wants this year round school is the ones that don't want to spend time with their children...the time that I share with my children during the summer is priceless..kids these days are already like adults let them enjoy their childhood they are not little forever...that's why the world is like the way it is nothing but greedy people. My children are not always going to be little so I would like to enjoy them. they already mess up the summers by starting in August and not September.

I agree with mother! They r our kids and our responsibility, not the government! We as parents need to get together and put a stop to letting them tell us what we can do with our own kids! Like when they r going to have there breaks. Even if they do have yr round school I will take my vacation when I want and if my kid miss a week of school, so be it! These teachers don't even try to help our kids any more! They just like the paid holidays and the summers off! They don't care if out kids learn anything or not, but don't get me wrong there r a FEW good teachers out there. Don't know any right off! But when the bad teachers run the good ones out u know something is wrong! So they say that's why they want the yr round so they can remember, correct me if I'm wrong, but with a good teacher they will remover! Now days they go over what's more on the west test to look good that they don't teach what really needs to be learned!!!

So you don't care that other countries are light years ahead of us in education? So your personal fun trumps your kids education oh ok i get it now makes perfect sense.

Not personal fun! I love spending time with my kids. They also need family time too, and I can teach my kids more one on one than what the teachers can in the over crowded classes!!! I have even home schooled my kids also!! My daughter in now in collage with a 4.0 and my son will graduate this yr!! Sooo I'm a very proud mother and I deserve a pat in the back for homeschooling my kids!! I think more parents should home school and than maybe we can get the school system to straiten up. I could tell u all kinds if stuff I have seen at our schools! Just a word of advice,DON'T ALWAYS believe the teachers of u child!!
