To the person(s) responsible for dropping off ur cat and her kittens at an empty house just before the fork out Glenwood Rd.....

The mommy cat, which you left the collar on, was suffering from heat exhaustion and foaming at the mouth. Luckily we were able to get her back to health.

The 2 kittens had jumped out of the box and were in the road, this is how we saw them and was able to wrangle them up and take them home.

They are happy and healthy now even though they went through a day of pure hell in the heat at a strange place with cars speeding by.

I hope that you NEVER own another cat again! If you cannot afford to have them spayed, then you don't deserve them. Animals need to be taken care of.

The poor things were all shook up, skinny and scared.

They are happy now with full bellies and a safe place to sleep.

Please let me know if anyone would like to adopt these beautiful babies!

Took in 5 strays of my own. Didnt think i'd ever be a cat person after having a boxer for 9 yrs. About 7 yr ago this black cat(LI'L BUDDY) shows up at my door 3 mo after my boxer passed away. Smart as hell. I walk him on a leash. He understands verbal commands. He used to bring me rabbits or birds but after i scolded him he now brings them to me alive to show then lets them go. One day i was turning over some compost and as he's sitting watching me this little mole runs out and walks right up to him ,stands on its back feet my cat who's in a sitting position bends over the two of them touch noses, the mole goes back on all fours and walks around him and my cat turns his attention back to me without even the slightest concern about killing it.Never even raised from a sitting position. He is a house cat but when let out for a few minutes a day will assert himself in the neighborhood. He's an Alpha Male. And moody as heck. One day he'll let the neighborhood cats eat on the porch and the next day he'll but an ass whoopin on them just to remind them who's in charge. Black cats get a bad rap because of superstition. They're actually very loving and superintelligent. I cant understand why guys dont like cats but prefer dogs. Cats are actually hunters. This is something they share with man.Dogs would starve without mans assistance. Cats will survive because of their instincts. So, to all you guys out there, help this person out by taking one of these kittens and you'll be surprised how much you got in common with these natural born hunters. Give it the attention you would your dog and you'll see how intelligent and easy to train they are. MY other housecat which is a 3 yr old(Tumbles) a grey and white, now he's a killer. Brings his prey back ready to cook. LOL.
The other 3 cats are ones that the neighbor methhead went off and left after they condemned his house.
They're actually bobtails. But love all my cats.
And i'd like to thank you for being kind enough to bring them in and see to their well being.

Don't fall for the trap of giving mommy back to the one who dropped her. if they did it once because they could not feed her they will do it again. the babies need a good home.

I can send you pics if you are truly interested,(gotta be careful on here) and I can meet you anywhere.

And NO, they are NOT getting the mommy back. She is so awesome. Loveable, smart, and takes great care of her babies. She is multi-colored, like patches of grey, brown, yellow, etc... and one kitten is black with patches of color, and the other is white and tiger striped.

They really need a good home. I have other animals but I am taking care of these until someone adopts. I just couldn't stand it if they were left there with no food or water and unaware of their surroundings, just makes me sick. Dropping off cats takes a little planning, I understand, it's expensive, but at least find a barn or farm AWAY from the road and out of bad weather! They can at least catch mice in a barn.

That's just right by my house. Are you my neighbor? haha I see cats there too but I think they live close by. They are older cats, not skinny, so someone is feeding them.

So now for the bad news.... I thought we had gotten them all but apparently we didn't. I was driving to town this morning around 7am and found that one had been hit by a car. If I knew it was there, we could have saved it. We looked everytime we drove by to make sure we had gotten them all.

I'd rather drop off at a barn or farm instead of calling animal control. At least that way they are free to roam and not locked up in a tiny cage. If you put yourself in that position, wouldn't you rather be free than locked up in jail? That's the way I see it. I mean, I hate the thought of dropping cats, but sometimes you have no choice, I get it, they can be overwhelming. They are still animals and can be very resourceful, but please ppl, don't leave them in the heat next to the road. That's all I ask. Have a little compassion. These cats belonged to someone, mommy still had a collar on.

Something else i forgot to mention about my gray and white cat (tumbles), he loves to ride on the rug. I just grab the end of the rug and he'll come and lay down on it. I'll pull him through the house and make sharp turns and he'll hang on.And he also loves a broom. Cant sweep the linoleum without him following it and flopping down beside it until i scratch his belly with it. Both him and the black cat (Li'l Buddy have their morning routine of waiting outside the bedroom door until i awaken then they'll walk me to the front door to be let out for a few minutes. And anytime im working in the yard or garden they'll stay right with me the whole time and observe. No rabbits in my cabbage!

How old are the kittens? I'm wondering bc a little boy showed up at our house with 2 kittens last week. They are probably only 4 weeks old now, they weren't ready to be away from their mother. I had to bottle feed them the first few days we had them. He said he found them on the side if the road, I don't know which road but he's a young kid so I wouldn't think he could go far and we live off west mud, so I assume he found them on west mud or James river turnpike. Anyways, I have 2 of them, really wish I knew the rest were ok. I'd be willing to take another one if its from the same litter as mine or around the same age!

No, these kittens have been weened, I assume they are around 7 or 8 wks old. I adopted one out just the other day to a VERY good home where I know it will be pampered and very well taken care of. I still have the mommy and a white/tiger kitten left. I also have 2 solid black kittens, one with semi-long hair, they are about 2 months old, then I have one more black kitten that is about 5 wks old.

All are litter trained and used to going outside and used to kids and a Pitbull.

Oh ok, the 2 I have are probably only 4-5 weeks old now. One solid black very fluffy and one white/tiger striped. I was going to offer to take them if they were from the same litter bc we wouldn't mind having another one.

Right, I understand. I still have some to get rid of if you want any more....
