I'm a single hard working mom, & I used to love going to Goodwills. And I don't mean any of this rant towards any specific workers or the organization because I DO realize it's not a Charity, its a NonProfit & they must sell their items to pay their workers. BUT anyone else getting upset that the one in Milton leaves their donations out back, to be ruined? I've seen nice couches & TVs just sitting there. Ive even went in to tell them that they have some nice things sitting at their back door, and the next day they were still there...being rained on & destroyed...if I would had known that, I woulda just loaded the tv up in my car if I wouldn't had gotten in trouble for it.
And also, I donated Boxes & Boxes of nice, nearly new & new items left over from my old consignment shop a family member owned & even though I went in there once a week just to look around, I never once seen any of my items hit the shelves.
I know they say workers can't shop there...but who's says they may not be putting things to the side, for their own use? Or have family members or friends come & buy it for them. I hate to even think this but where's everything nice at?
Prices have went up, yes, with inflation, I understand that. However the Milton one rarely has 'name brand' & who wants to pay $6 for old Chic jeans?
And toys are the most donated items. My son used to love going in there, to pick out a new-to-him toy. Now there's just a small box of junk toys!?!
What happened? It wasn't like this last year, I know that. What happened to the toys, the name brand items, & everything?

I think they shuffle items between the stores, but the valuables are sold in online auctions. There is a lot of foul play at this location though, it's nothing new. I've never felt comfortable donating items to Goodwill and never have.

I used to love going to Goodwill in Milton! The way they have it fixed now it's hard to find anything and the prices are too high! I wish they would fix the store back the way it used to be! And about employees not shopping there and buying stuff..COmE On...I'm sure they get what they want or have friends or family members to come and get it for them,if they keep up the new ways of this store I bet they won't be open not much longer!

I know for a fact that they have friends or family come in and buy things they want. It's supposed to be on the shelf for several hours before they can buy it for themselves. They will hold it in the back, I have even seen these transactions personally, until their family or friend gets there to buy it for them.

Once, I had picked up a household item to buy one day, get ready to put it in my buggy, when one of the workers, on the CLOCK stopped me and said she had her eye on that all morning and it was hers. She actually took it back!!!!!

I refuse to shop there, and anyone else, go to B'ville, or the Teays Valley store. But, I'm pretty sure it goes on in all the stores.
