This company has to be the biggest joke ever. I obtained this job in hopes of excelling through the ranks for many years to come. I began working in the manufacturing area of the company however as time went on I became quite aware of this companies many short falls. 1-The lighting fixtures instead of being correctly manufactured they were hastily put together with missing components such as screws, rivets and safe wiring. Quantity not quality was the way of the world at Selux as per Plant Manager Randy Adams. 2-The actually working environment was atrocious with no air circulation in the building. Temperatures reached 110 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the plant. During my employment I asked one of the maintenance employees how much realistically it would cost the company to run a climate controlled system per month and he said with the hundreds of solar panels on the roof a realistic number would be between 8-10 thousand dollars a month. The laughable part of this was that being a member of the manufacturing department we were given every morning print outs of the days total sales margin and NEVER was it under $60,000 a day!!!! This goes to show where this companies human values are. You don't have to travel to China or Tijuana to find sweat shop hell holes when you have Selux right here in the Hudson Valley. 3-Selux also focuses on lies and false hopes for you during your interview. Mr Adams had promised me a lead position upon my interview in which I showed great interest. However after bending over backwards to show my interest in the position he ended up hiring someone off the street lol. 4-Selux hires temps from Ethan Allen as well as Man Power and claims after 3 months you will be evaluated where you will be kept or let go. The honest truth is that Selux waits nearly 8 months to give you full employment. However there are many times where people just show up as full time employees, its quite the magic trick :-) 5-Selux manufacturing employees fall under the guise that they are protected by the union shop located on the premises however that is quite a fair bit of malarkey. Never once has the union shop defended it's members against write ups given by the company Selux. The union hall teabags the company on a daily basis.

I worked at Selux for 3 years until one day I slipped on a puddle (lots of leaks in the roof) and broke my ankle. After coming back from the injury they fired me! This is a scumbag company.

These posts are completely untrue. Selux is a revered employer in the Hudson Valley that is known for taking care of their employees. Obviously, these people are disgruntled for some reason and most likely a result of their own shortcomings. Selux is a responsible employer that offers excellent benefits to their employees and compensation is comparible to other manufacturers in the same area. As a manufacturing employee myself, the entire company takes pride in the appearance of the factory and management is always looking for ways to improve the work environment. The factory is often complimented on the organization and cleanliness by visitors. Selux is a union shop and the union has always been available for the employees if their was a dispute of any form. The plant manager, Randy Aadms is always fair and I have never heard of him making promises and not keeping them. To the people that are posting these lies, get a life!

Short comings? lmao more like the place is just a dump that everyone uses as a temp job. So you call a manufacturing plant that has temperatures upwards of 100 degrees a place that takes care of its employees? You truly are a tool. One of my good friends started at the same time as me and Selux dodged offering him health benefits the day it was offered to me, thats fair? Im so glad I left that horrible cess pool.

When I worked for Selux and had a disagreement with one of the "higher ups" they held my paycheck for nearly 5 hours after everyone else was paid! They try to use these type of cowardly scare tactics to intimidate their workforce. NEVER EVER APPLY TO WORK AT SELUX THEY ARE SLIMEBALLS!
